Investigating Science 2(High School Science)
We have presented Investigating Science 2 as our instructional software for aged 11 to 14
years old high school students. It helps them to understand more about science like magnets and
electromagnetism, sound and hearing, respiration, microbes and disease, rocks and weathering,
atoms and elements, ecological relationship, compounds and mixtures, heating and cooling, the
rock cycle, light, and food digestion. This software helps the students to understand more of it
and gives trivia to them. There are also question and answer game to test what they have
understood.
The group rating for this educational software was three stars because there are some
flaws in this instructional software. Sooner or later, you can feel boredom. Educational games
are both entertainment and educational because kids want to learn in a much enjoyable ways.
Educational software is in demand now-a-days because kids are enjoying it and learning as well.
It is a common strategy for them to learn that’s why most of the parents buying educational
software. They can see a big change in their kids after learning with the educational software.
This educational software was made by Europeans because they have more high tech
technologies than we have. We can also have a localized version of this. But the problem is can
we make educational software as good as them or much better? I would suggest that they make it
more interesting and more animations. Kids would be more interested with more fun and
animations. I think it would be more challenging and fun if they could make it more adventurous
like the JumpStart.
Personally, I would give this instructional software a 2.5 rating because first of all, it is
not famous. There were no responses by the people because I couldn’t find this software in the
internet. Also, they have less interaction with students and the audio wasn’t that good. The video
was good but relying on this is a secondary option only for me.
