The A.K. Smiley Library in Redlands, California was originally built in 1898 and donated to the city by Albert K. Smiley. It was designed in the Moorish (Mission) style by architect T.R. Griffith. Additional wings were later added in 1907, 1920, 1926, 1930, and 1990 to expand the original library. The library was built on land that was previously orange groves and was located prominently in the downtown area overlooking the city center.

Carnegie's legacy of libraries -michigan history
Andrew Carnegie greatly influenced literacy in Michigan through his philanthropic efforts to build public libraries across the United States in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He funded the construction of over 60 libraries in Michigan alone. Some of the earliest and most notable included libraries in Detroit, Howell, Petoskey, and Lapeer. HISTORY OF THE DENVER PUBLIC LIBRARY CLERK

My Family: Riverside Cemetery in Denver (Denver's Pioneer Cemetery)
My Great Great Grandmother Maria Christina, Great Great Grandfather George Conrad and their 'Baby Butz' are buried at Block 8, Lot 85. Their daughter and my Great Grandmother Susanna Katharina and Great Grandfather Johann Balthasar are buried at Block 13, Lot 262. New York City

HISTORY OF RICHMOND’S IRON TRIANGLE

Overton park & parkview hotel
Overton Park in Memphis, Tennessee was established in 1901 when the city purchased 342 acres of forested land from the Lea family. Landscape architect George Kessler designed Overton Park according to the City Beautiful movement's principles of preserving natural spaces. Over the decades, various institutions and facilities were added to the park, including the Memphis Zoo (1906), Brooks Museum of Art (1915), and Overton Park Shell (1936). However, the park was threatened in the 1950s when part of its land was condemned for a highway project, sparking controversy over preservation of the urban green space.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in Education
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
