Pioneer Global Datastage is for collection of data from multiple sources, Extracting it from
there and then Loading it into various outputs. The output can be sometimes multiple sources like flat
2. files or databases. Standardized templates with re-usable components are set up that can be utilized
for multiple clients, as well as client specific templates.
Project#1: Global Web

Global Web project is mainly to extract Fund, Shareclass and Benchmark data from Teradata
Database and load into the Sql Server 2008 Database.
1) Master tables are loaded from the dimension table (dimproduct) of Teradata database.
2) Child Tables are loaded using XML Files (German Funds) as sources.In between we used a few
reference tables of SQL server database for populating few columns in child tables.
3) An Email notification has to be sent for the unmatched or rejected records.
Project#2: SolvencyII
SolvencyII project is to Extract Fund & ShareClass Information by joining position and security
tables from Oracle Database and generate a report in a template format(.CSV file) and given to
clients.
Reusable tool:
During Unit testing it was not possible to cover all the test scenarios in Development database
environment as few data present in UAT environment wasn’t available in DEV environment. So, every
time we used to manually set the data in DEV environment which consumed lot of time and efforts.To
avoid this we built a job, which refreshes the data in DEV environment with UAT, when it is run.QA
Team can also utilize this job to refresh there data with UAT data.By making use of this one can
perform unit testing with all the real time scenarios.
Additional Functionality:
1) Job has to be run 101 times for 101 funds.So, a loop logic has been implemented.
2) These 101 fund are nothing but shareclasses ,which are discriminated from normal funds using a
separate extraction query.
Project#3: Informatica ILM-TDM
Client: Humana Health Care Team Size: 4
The Informatica ILM Test Data Management is used to protect sensitive data and create
nonproductions systems for test and development purposes.It is used to implement data subset,data
masking and data discovery operations. Here some rules are applied,by using TDM, on the tables
inorder to encrypt the data and finally generate workflows using Powercenter.
Project#4: ME-EDI(Member Eligibility and Electronic Data Interchange)
Client: Humana Health Care Team Size : 2
ME-EDI was developed to manage 5 healthcare forms where the details of the customers are
extracted from the XML source files. And these details are loaded into the target using Informatica
powercenter. During this loading we applied some transformations inorder to fliter required data, to
update exisisting data etc according to the client’s requirement. After loading the data into the
3. target(by running the workflows) we had to process all the source files, test them move them to the
target location by calling webservice using SOAP tool.
During testing we automized the process with the help of a scheduling tool called DOLLAR
UNIVERSE which will run all the workflows according to the schedule by picking up the files from the
location mentioned in the parameter file which was placed in the workflow. To monitor these
workflows an automatic email notification is being generated.
