This document is a project report on J-Editor submitted by Rekha Choudhary. It provides an introduction to J-Editor, describing it as a powerful interactive development environment for Java technologies. We take this opportunity to express my profound gratitude and deep
regards to my trainer Mr. Tulsi Ram Gurjar (Software Engineer) and Mr. Anil
Sharma (Project Manager), Pratham Software Solutions, Krishna Marg,

3. We underwent practical training at PRATHAM SOLUTIONS PVT.
LTD. for 45 days training program in corporate in the curriculum of
Bachelor of Technology under Rajasthan Technical University.
As a student of Information Technology/Computer Science and
Engineering, the training at PRATHAM SOLUTIONS PVT. LTD. has
been particularly beneficial for us. we observed various procedures,
processes and equipment's used in software industry, this helped us in
understanding concepts of CYCLE OF SOFTWARE
DEVELOPMENT and JAVA ENTERPRISE EDITION in a better
way.
We have tried to get acquainted with overall functioning and main
concepts involved.

‘J-Editor ’

5. Introduction to J-Editor :
J-Editor is a powerful interactive development environment (IDE) for Java
technologies .
J-Editor is a very simple and useful text editor that will help you build and test
your code effectively of the application. In order to facilitate the handling of
concerns we propose the application of aspect oriented approaches and discuss
why these aspects are more convenient for usage. These instructions are to
help you install Java and the JCreator JDE (you will need both!) on your
personal computer. J-Editor is a powerful and fast development environment
for Java.

6. It provides the user with a wide range of functionality such as: project
management, project templates, code-completion, debugger interface, editor
with syntax highlighting, wizards and a fully customizable user interface.
J-Editor runs on Windows-based computers and it has a Windows-like user
interface making it easy to learn and use. Two versions of JEditor are
available. A freeware version JCreator LE (Lite Edition) can be
downloaded as instructed here.
The “Pro” version can be purchased from ShareIt! Inc. inGreensburg, PA
for $35 (October 2002) for an academic/personal use license. The LE
version is sufficient for this class, but if you are serious about programming,
the Pro version has several useful features not in the LE version. The most
useful are the “code completion” feature and a built in debugger.

7. As per the requirement of project, the project JCreator consists of
following requirements:-
· Creation of new java file.
· Open multiple java files .
· Save & Saveas the java file.
· Write the java program.
· Compile the java program by removing the error.
· Print the message on the message box (after every successive
compilation).
· Run the java program and output should display on command
prompt.
· Easy to handle java programs.
· Cut, Copy, paste of the contents also performed from one file to
other respective file aur place.
· Find and Replace of the contents also performed by this project.

8. USE-CASE SURVEY:
A use-case is a list of steps, typically defining interactions between a
role (known as an "actor") and a system, to achieve a goal. The actor
can be a human or an external system. A use case defines the
interactions between external actors and the system under
consideration to accomplish a goal. Actors must be able to make
decisions, but need not be human: "An actor might be a person, a
company or organization, a computer program, or a computer system
— hardware, software, or both."

33. CONCLUSION
J-Editor cannot write my configuration to it's files, because the user that
runs J-Editor does not have sufficient rights. If I run J-Editor as
Administrator, everything is fine. However, this does only seem to apply
to my recent workspaces list, and some other settings, but not my JDK
profile.Maybe you can't write to the configuration files as well. I wood
take this opportunity to again thank all those innovative engineers and
people working silently behind the scenes to have given us a wonderful
product like J-Editor and look forward for many more exciting and
productive developer tools. They certainly deserve a lot of appreciation.
As a side note I'd like to say that the actions mentioned above have been
performed by me in JCreator Pro 7.1, I do not have a clue whether this
also works in the LE version or in any 2.x version.
