The controller DM 400 Hydro is designed as a modular
process controller. It covers demands for:

The DM 400 control of a hydro turbine generator is
designed for unmanned operation.
The user interface provides full information to the user
and allows an efficient diagnosis and a fast
reestablishment of the operation locally as well as
remotely.
Advanced Graphical Interphase – AGI 300
• The AGI 300 series contains three screen size
models: AGI 304 (4”), AGI 307 (7") and AGI
315 (15”).
• Compatible with DEIF's Multi-line controllers
and other DEIF/third party products with
Modbus/Ethernet protocol
• Full vector graphic support with True Type
fonts. Portrait mode operation
• Multiple objects properties with dynamic control,
including visibility and position.
• Data acquisition and trend presentations. Trend
data can be transferred to a host computer.

Case Story - Mohammadpur Hydro power plant
Kaplan turbine plant, 3 x 3.4 MW synchronous generators
DEIF Scope – Mohammadpur Hydro Plant
To provide the Fully Automated Digital Governor which not only regulate the power but also
do the plant start/ stop sequence & provide Generator protection.
1.Regulate Power according to Set point provided either by Touch panel, MODBUS or
Analogue input.
2.Control the Oil Pressure Unit (OPU) system, Breaking system, Jacking system either in
Test mode or Auto Mode.
3.Testing of Digital output possible in Test-Mode.
4.Excitation Control in fully automated way to do synchronization & regulate power factor.
5.Provide Generator and Bus bar protection. Also Special protection function “External control
” in which Dolomitic provide only electrical protection.
6.On line runner pitch configuration while machine running, done through Touch panel.
7.Parameter setting for electrical protection is online and can be done through Touch panel.
8.Gain setting for various PID loop is online and can be done through Touch panel.
9.Monitoring of RTD connected to DM4 and freely configurable Alarm and trip setting.
GPC-3 Hydro with Valve Control – Mini Hydro
• Start and stop sequences for various types of hydro
turbines are included (e.g. for Francis, Turgo and Pelton
turbines).
• Main valve, fill valve, drain valve, bypass or deflector
control and needle/spear valve control.
• Up to 2 control valves (needle/spear) can be controlled
with relay UP/DOWN signals or with analogue signals.
• Wicket gate control for Pelton/Francis turbine.

GPC -3 Hydro – Micro Hydro Turbine Controller
GPC 3 can be used for Francis or Kaplan turbine generator
with one speed control valve/wicket gate, controllable by
relay output UP/DOWN signals.

GPC -3 Hydro –Electronic Load Controller
Speed/Frequency control is done thru
Blast/Dump Load Control which will
increase/decrease in accordance with
the Governor Regulation output (i.e 4-
20mA) given by GPC-3 Hydro controller
to maintain nominal frequency set-point
of 50Hz.
The Governor Output is usually set as
•At 4 mA out put Dump/Blast Load = 0%
of Total Dump Load
•At 20mA output Dump/Blast Load =
100% of Total Dump Load
Both the Gensets will work in Active
Power (P) Load sharing mode and
maintain constant frequency of bus bar

DEIF Scope – Mohammadpur Hydro Plant To provide the Fully Automated Digital Governor which not only regulate the power but also do the plant start/ stop sequence & provide Generator protection. 1.Regulate Power according to Set point provided either by Touch panel, MODBUS or Analogue input. 2.Control the Oil Pressure Unit (OPU) system, Breaking system, Jacking system either in Test mode or Auto Mode. 3.Testing of Digital output possible in Test-Mode. 4.Excitation Control in fully automated way to do synchronization & regulate power factor. 5.Provide Generator and Bus bar protection. Also Special protection function “External control ” in which Dolomitic provide only electrical protection. 6.On line runner pitch configuration while machine running, done through Touch panel. 7.Parameter setting for electrical protection is online and can be done through Touch panel. 8.Gain setting for various PID loop is online and can be done through Touch panel. 9.Monitoring of RTD connected to DM4 and freely configurable Alarm and trip setting.

GPC -3 Hydro –Electronic Load Controller Speed/Frequency control is done thru Blast/Dump Load Control which will increase/decrease in accordance with the Governor Regulation output (i.e 4- 20mA) given by GPC-3 Hydro controller to maintain nominal frequency set-point of 50Hz.
