1. ITALY VISA PROCESS
FOR STUDENTS

2. SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS
• Appointment confirmation
• Checklist
• Printout of Handwritten visa form
• Cover letter
• Offer letter from Institution
• “Dichiarazione di Valore” (Declaration of Value) of the applicant’s educational certificates duly
legalized by the Consular office of this Embassy. The Italian Institution or School should advise
this Embassy directly in case it is not required
• Fee receipt from institution
• Accommodation confirmation

3. SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS
• Passport with validity at least 3 month from the departure date.
• One Photo size 35 x45
• Travel insurance minimum coverage of Euro 42600
• All Academic documents starting from 10th onwards. (duly Apostilled by Ministry of External
affairs)
• All work experience documents
• Bank statement of last 6 month covering remaining fee and living expenses (living expenses is
450 Euro Per month).
• Sponsor last 2 years Income tax return with computation of taxes/form 16.

4. SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS
• Sponsor Affidavit of support.
• Sponsor Source of Income like pay slips, or business proof.
• Travel Ticket

5. DECLARATION OF VALUE (DOV)
• DOV is usually not required and mentioned same on college offer letter, however if it is required,
than
• The degree certificate and the translated document has to be submitted to the
nearest Italian consulate for DOV. The submission is done through VFS office. So you need to visit
the nearest VFS office and submit it.
• DOV charges is INR. 3600/- (subject to change) to be paid at VFS in cash.

6. VISA FORM
• There is a offline form which student need to fill and then take a printout of the same. Visa form

7. APPOINTMENT FOR VISA FILE
SUBMISSION AT EMBASSY OR CONSULATE
• After completing all documents, student need to book an appointment with VFS for visa file

8. VISA FEE
• Visa fee is 50 Euro which will be paid while submitting documents at VFS center through
cash/debit/credit card.

9. PROCESSING TIME
• According to the Immigration Law of Italy, the visa processing time is 15 days after submission of
all the stipulated documents. The documents are considered to be submitted when received at
the Embassy from the VFS Global
