Digital transformation, digital enterprise and connected business; what does this all mean for each industry vertical? How does one innovate in critical strategies? What does the reference architecture look like for a small, medium or larger enterprise? How does an organization implement such an architecture?
As an avid technology partner, WSO2 has helped many organisations in their journey to build the right digital enterprise capabilities that create better customer and internal user experiences. This session will answer the above questions and share our own experience from successful projects.
Middleware is essential for application development which increases the productivity of full-stack developers by bringing battle hardened functional capabilities covering the majority of a digital-driven project. However, with the adoption to Microservices and cloud-native application architecture middleware cannot use like used in the past, this is a solution for the above problem.
Complexity created by distributed computing encapsulated by the middleware for over two decades and made application developers productive by letting them focus on business logic relevant to their domain. Modern architecture and technology drift, such as Microservices, Cloud-native, and Serverless do not have room to embed middleware into the application development while the need is still there.
In this talk, Asanka is going to deep-dive into an API-centric, decentralized, and code-first approach to fill the void of middleware and make the application developer productive again.

Traditional application delivery is broken and cannot keep up with demands of the digital age. However, Low-code Platforms are emerging as key enablers to innovation by simplifying the development and deployment of custom enterprise apps.
As the pound’s value plummeted at the start of the economic downturn in 2008-9, economists hoped this might ultimately pave the way for an export-led recovery. And while it has been a long time coming, there does seem to be an economic recovery of sorts beginning to appear. The OECD recently upped its annual growth rate forecast for the UK economy in 2014 from 0.8% to 1.5%. However, the recovery does not appear to be driven by net exports as the trade figures in July 2013 were as disappointing as ever!
I have worked with the fostering team for 2 years to drive up recruitment of foster carers, which is a highly competitive market competing against independent agencies. I was recently involved in a joint campaign called You Can Foster with 22 local authorities to promote fostering for a local authority as the first choice. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
