NIXI facilitates the exchange of domestic internet traffic between peering ISP members in India. It operates internet exchanges and manages .in, the national top-level domain name for India. NIXI also coordinates IP address allocation and other internet resource management functions at the national level. NIXI's network currently includes 132 ISPs, 11 CDNs, and internet exchange points in many major Indian cities. NIXI plans to expand its network further and connect more CDNs and smaller ISPs across India to reduce costs and latency.

2. About NIXI
• NIXI is a not for profit Organization under section 8 of the Companies Act 2013, and was registered on 19th
June, 2003. NIXI was set up for peering of ISP's among themselves for the purpose of routing the domestic
traffic within the country, instead of taking it all the way to US/Abroad, thereby resulting in better quality of
service (reduced latency) and reduced bandwidth charges for ISP's by saving on International Bandwidth.
NIXI is managed and operated on a Neutral basis, in line with the best practices for such initiatives globally.

6. IXP Partner Benefits
• The IXP Partner will get 10% of Port Charges for every new member connected
• The referral fee will be paid after 3 months of peering of new member with NIXI
• For consecutive year 5 % margin will passed to IXP member
• NIXI NOC locations where port chargers are free, IXP will get one time Rs.10,000/-
referral fee with no subsequent year margins

7. NIXI FUTURE PLAN
• NIXI will open new IX point across India in FY21-22
• A robust interconnected network will be created at NIXI’s own cost to
support the smallest ISP present in the hinterlands on India
• Connecting with NIXI across India will enable an ISP to pull content
from all over India at their local level
• This will reduce cost and latency to the ISP as also the end consumer

9. NIXI MANDI
NIXI Mandi is a concept whereby the member of
National Internet Exchange (NIXI) can transact
business among themselves. It is brought basically to
extend the services of data centres and telecom
service providers to existing ISPs and new ISPs. Data
Centre and ISPs can offer any services. For example,
cross connect, last mile connectivity, Cloud computing,
International Internet bandwidth or any other services.
NIXI Mandi an e-commerce platform is available and
applicable to the registered members of NIXI.
