ISFED is an independent non-governmental organization founded in 1995 in Georgia that supports democratic processes and the rule of law. It has a central office and 5 regional offices overseen by a general assembly and board. ISFED's strategic directions include promoting transparent and democratic elections, government institutions, and civil society. It monitors elections, educates voters, audits voters' lists, and works to improve legislation. ISFED also monitors local governments and promotes citizen participation in decision making. It has participated in many reforms including constitutional reforms and election code reforms.
