This TACSO project, organized in cooperation with Catalyst Balkans, aims to continuously contribute to steering the processes along the desired changes across the countries in the region in order to increase capacities of CSOs and to enable greater opportunities for sustainability and contributions to society.
The Civil Society Advocacy Initiative (CSAI) is a 7-year, $27.5 million USAID-funded program that supports Serbian civil society. It provided 364 grants worth $13.5 million to 230 CSOs, trained over 1,430 activists, helped pass 30 national laws, and supported numerous advocacy campaigns on issues like education, the environment, and human rights. CSAI also helped develop partnerships between CSOs and businesses, highlighted the role of digital activism, and improved the public image of civil society in Serbia.
The Leadership Programme enabled several European cycling advocacy organizations to strengthen their advocacy efforts and grow their organizations. Many groups were able to hire staff for the first time or expand existing teams, allowing them to increase membership, coordinate advocacy campaigns, conduct outreach, and engage in political lobbying. As a result, the groups have seen successes in advancing cycling on the local and national levels in their countries.

Voscur provides support and representation for voluntary and community organizations in Bristol. Over the past year, they have helped organizations become more sustainable through training programs and support services. Voscur also advocates for the sector and influences local decision-makers through roundtables, conferences, and responding to public consultations. A university study found that for every £1 invested in Voscur, it creates £11.82 in social value through the work of supported organizations. Going forward, Voscur plans to continue adapting services to meet members' needs and find new ways to represent the sector through community radio and networks.
This document provides a completion report for the Governance Accountability Project (GAP) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was implemented by Development Alternatives, Inc. over approximately 39 months.
