This presentation has been created for reception and grade 1 students to identify and distinguish between living and non living things with a pop quiz at the end
30. Seed by itself does not show the
characteristics of living things but
under right conditions of
temperature, moisture and sunlight,
they can grow into a new plant.
Hence, they are considered as living
things.
32. Clouds and rain are non-living
things as they do not have the
characteristics of living things like
eating, breathing and so on. But
still, they are moving because of the
flow of wind.
34. Fruits and vegetables are living
things. They grow on trees, which
are also a living things.
Even after you pick the fruit from
the tree the cells in the skin and the
flesh have a store of energy that
they use to continue to perform their
cellular functions.
36. The egg is living if it has a baby
bird inside. Mommy birds have to
take care off eggs that have
baby birds inside. The eggs that
are in your grocery store do not
have baby birds inside and are
non-living.
