You are always solving what it has to look like visually, based on what it needs to be conceptually.

It could just be a paint job, or using light in a specific way to highlight a feature, to make it an experience for the viewer.
- #42 Should you judge a book by its cover? I would really like to say yes but I think that there are a lot of books out there are a lot of great books out there that don’t have great covers.
- #43 You have to give the cover of a book the visual voice it deserves. The artistic expression, that is the art of it. Getting into the mind of a book, expressing what the book it about, making it beautiful and grabbing peoples attention. You always care about what your reading first, and that’s based on contrast of size, contrast of color, is the title more important that the author?, can you read it from across the store or not? A successful book cover is something you want to hold in your hand, its unexpected, smart, and beautiful, but at the end of the day you just want to put it on your book shelf face out because it means something to you.
