This document describes a biometric attendance system that uses fingerprint recognition for student attendance tracking. The system consists of a fingerprint sensor module connected to an Arduino Uno microcontroller board with an Ethernet shield to transfer fingerprint data to a backend server database. When students place their finger on the sensor, their fingerprint is matched to stored templates. If matched, their attendance is logged in the database along with the time. This system aims to improve attendance tracking accuracy compared to traditional methods by preventing proxy attendance issues while also reducing the time students spend marking attendance.
