3. IPTC’s Year Since AGM 2014
• I became Chairman of the Board at the 2014 AGM
• My immediate goals
• Improve the quality of the face-to-face meetings
• Improve the quality of IPTC’s communications
• Maintain the high quality of IPTC’s standards work

4. Face to Face Meetings
• Take advantage of the face-to-face meeting format
• Less dry reporting, fewer formalities
• More interaction
• Friendlier to people who are new to the IPTC
• Focus on areas of interest, not just standards
• Each meeting since has experimented with the format
• Feedback has been positive
• We’re open to further suggestions

5. Communications
• IPTC.org overhaul
– Long overdue
– Enlisted design and marketing professionals to help
– Universally positive feedback - which never happens!
• Outreach
– Photo Metadata Conference
– Hamburg Newsroom Summit – “Finding Relevant News Faster”
• We know we still need to improve our communications
– Less stuffy, less repetitive, less formulaic
– More often, more relevant, more concise, more in-depth
