Previous decision to go 1:1 using iPads by
2014 by district technology committee
Teachers on committee wanted a device with
larger screen and plenty of educational apps
available to choose from
Survey of parents and student body showed
preference for iPad over Android devices
Apple provides online resources for PD

3. Student Population
Chosen for Pilot
Academic Support Classroom (ASC)
ASC students have lower scores on standardized
tests such as HSPT, ACT PLAN and EXPLORE
ASC available for all struggling students during
at least one hour of their daily schedule
ASC students are motivated by the use of
technology as demonstrated by earlier
additions of three PCs to their classroom
