Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:
Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.

Encryption in Microsoft 365 - ExpertsLive Netherlands 2024Albert Hoitingh
In this session I delve into the encryption technology used in Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Purview. Including the concepts of Customer Key and Double Key Encryption.
2. Remember the slogan Apple trademarked in 2010,
“there’s an app for that”?
It’s more relevant now than ever.
Android users have 2.2 million apps to choose from,
while Apple users have 2 million to choose from.
3. At iOFFICE, we love apps…we mean love
them. Learn a little about the iOFFICE
team and our favorite apps.
We’ve even come up with ways you can
use our favorite apps in your office.
4. If you’re anything like the iOFFICE team, you love food and drinks (you’ll see a La
Croix and a cup of goldfish on 3 out of 4 desks). If you’re anything like Elizabeth,
your veins are pumped with your morning Starbucks. Try using the Starbucks app
like she does - place your order when you leave the house, and your latte will be
sitting with your name on it ready for you at the store. Bonus: you’ll make it to that
morning meeting on time or maybe even a few minutes early.
FOOD
®
5. Even though our headquarters is in Texas, we still don’t like the heat. For those
days when it’s way too hot to step outside, Renee’s favorite app is Door Dash.
They make it easy to order food from your favorite restaurants and deliver in a
snap. Try it on a busy day when you don’t have time to leave your desk, or when
the weather outside doesn’t permit.
FOOD
®
6. I love traffic! (said no one ever). Kevin hates traffic, but Waze helps shed some
time off his morning and evening commute while staying sane. Waze will help
you get to the office (or home) the quickest way possible, even alerting you of
stalled vehicles, cops, and wrecks.
PEACE OF MIND
®
7. James is like your big brother, and because he is like your big brother, the Vivint
Smart Home App is his favorite. If you like to make sure everything is okay at
home while you’re gone, or if you miss your kids too much while you’re at work,
peak into the house periodically throughout the day. OR you can install it at the
office to ensure everything’s okay even when you’re away.
PEACE OF MIND
®
8. Spotify tops the list in the office, too. Sammy likes to jam out to help stay
focused and productive, or even encourage a little dance party in the office. He
says it’s good for company morale!
CREATIVITY
®
9. For when you want to be inspired (and crafty), check out Pita’s favorite,
Pinterest. Have you seen all the Pins to help you get organized at the office,
customize your cubicle, or the countless office hacks?
CREATIVITY
®
10. You’d be lying if you said you’re never stressed while at work (even working from
home). Terry loves to unwind a little by cranking open Yahoo Sports to check
out the latest updates on his favorite teams - Texans, anyone? Check in on your
favorite sports team, or even your coworker’s favorite team… you have to make
sure you’re winning the office Survivor league.
ATHLETIC / SPORTS
®
11. We can’t forget about the dogs! The dogs of iOFFICE are obsessed with
Map My Dog Walk, so everyone in the office knows exactly what each dog’s
favorite path is. In the app, you can keep up with friends, which allows you to
see their favorite paths or discover new paths to try out.
ATHLETIC / SPORTS
®
12. You’ve heard of that syndrome where you always think your phone is going off,
even though it isn’t? (phantom vibration syndrome, so you don’t have to Google
it - we’ve already Googled it plenty). You should try out Graham’s favorite,
Mightytext. It’s a text to computer app that allows you to read and respond to
texts without having to touch your phone; you can even see all general phone
notifications. He promises you won’t develop anxiety from not touching your
phone (he hopes).
PRODUCTIVITY
®
13. Have trouble concentrating throughout the day? What about remembering
things? Rebecca suggests Brain Wave, which allows you to signal your brain to
hop on certain waves (there’s 32 options to be exact). The app helps strengthen
your brain by inducing frequencies associated with specific brainwaves and
states of mind. Her favorite is concentration.
PRODUCTIVITY
®
14. Elf Yourself has been a Christmas classic for years… but Tiffany loves placing
herself into quirky videos year round with Jib Jab. If you have a sense of humor
like Tiffany, this app allows you to crop your face into a variety of short clips. Try
inserting your FM team’s faces for a company Christmas card.
PHOTOS / VIDEO
®
15. If you want to really wow your viewers (especially those Millennials) with your
images, try Katherine’s favorite, VSCO (because the cool Millennials don’t use
Instagram filters anymore). VSCO has a variety of free filters (plus filters for
purchase); you can even look at other users’ portfolios for examples.
PHOTOS / VIDEO
®
16. You have to stay organized at work. While Apple’s calendar feature is fine, our
CTO, Kenton, prefers Fantastical. He says it’s a much better replacement for
the standard calendar, and it even allows you to schedule with co-workers.
Fantastical allows you to seamlessly add events to your calendar using natural
language. The app will even recognize the location of the event and allow you
to quickly view it on a map.
ORGANIZATION
®
17. It’s easy to go down the rabbit hole, also known as your email inbox when you
should be doing something much more productive. Cameron suggests the app
called Inbox, Google’s newest client for Gmail. It’s great for sorting, snoozing,
and dismissing emails to come back to. You could try the tool to snooze those
50% off offers for when you really deserve to treat yourself.
ORGANIZATION
®
18. Our software developers need constant and seamless communication with each
other to make sure everything’s running smoothly at all times. Robyn prefers the
Slack app because it has all the same perks of Slack on your desktop - it’s an
easy to use messaging app to keep up with your team and up to date
on projects.
COMMUNICATION
®
19. One of our other developers, Victor, loves Facebook Messenger for the design
and endless features. He uses it to keep up with relatives and friends who live
out of the country.
COMMUNICATION
®
20. Keeping track of who you owe money to for picking up lunch can be difficult.
Kaitlan swears by Venmo. It allows you to connect your bank account and easily
transfer money between contacts, so you can quickly pay that person
who so kindly ran out to get you lunch.
MONETARY
®
21. Work can be stressful for the controller of a growing SaaS Workplace
Management tool. But Tom doesn’t sweat it... he uses the Chase banking app to
keep up to date on every payment and transaction that occurs.
MONETARY
®
22. Mobile devices can actually improve productivity at the office. Out of the
4.2 million apps available in the Android and Apple markets,
here are all the apps the iOFFICE team mentioned:
Starbucks: Apple / Android Brain Wave: Apple / Android
Door Dash: Apple / Android Jib Jab: Apple / Android
Waze: Apple / Android VSCO: Apple / Android
Vivint Smart Home: Apple / Android Fantastical: Apple / Android Alternative
Spotify: Apple / Android Inbox: Apple / Android
Pinterest: Apple / Android Slack: Apple / Android
Yahoo Sports: Apple / Android Facebook Messenger: Apple / Android
Map My Dog Walk: Apple / Android Venmo: Apple / Android
Mightytext: Apple / Android Chase: Apple / Android
23. You’ve got the apps to conquer the workplace
(& the rest of the world).
And because apps can improve your productivity and
work life, it’s time to improve your workplace as a whole.
