• 1.5 million people live in the communities we serve with an average income is $23,000,
compared to an average income of $71,000 for the rest of Chicago
• Only 13% of Sinai patients have private health insurance
• In North Lawndale 45% of all women have diagnosed high blood pressure, compared to
27% for the rest of Chicago
• One in four people report suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
• Residents in some West Side communities are 250% more likely to die from cancer,
once diagnosed.

5. Our Vision
Together We Will Transform North Lawndale
• Ogden Commons, developed with the City of Chicago and Chicago Housing Authority, is a
housing, commercial and retail development on the north side of Ogden Avenue across from
Mount Sinai Hospital.
• Ogden Commons is a joint venture with Cinespace Film Studios and The Habitat Corporation.
• This development is the first major effort of its size in the North Lawndale community in
decades and has the full support of Mayor Lori Lightfoot.
• Ogden Commons creates an exciting path to vibrancy with civic and private investment in
North Lawndale.
