Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

3. A concept artist sketches the initial look and tone of the video game,
creating a visual representation of the idea for the art department in the
early stages of development.
A video game concept artist is a person who designs the visual
components and style of a video game. They create sketches in print
and/or digital form of ideas for:
Characters like heroes and villains
Settings like natural and built environments
Real and mythical creatures like pets, wild animals, giants, monsters,
witches, warlocks, dragons and unicorns
Objects like weapons, tools and vehicles
Backgrounds, fonts and menu screens
4. WHAT DOES A VIDEO GAME
CONCEPT ARTIST DO?
A video game concept artist drafts original, high-quality artwork
for a video game. Their concept sketches can inspire game
production designers and help them develop a unique gaming
experience for players. Here are some typical duties of video
game concept artists:
Determine how to represent a particular mood in a video game
through visual elements
Collaborate with game production and art professionals, such as
art directors, 3D modelers, level designers, animators,
developers, programmers and publishers
Provide production team members with context and direction
for video game artwork
Conduct photographic research and use references for drawings
Develop multiple revisions and iterations of ideas to meet client
specifications
Use design software and conduct digital painting and rendering
Develop methods to represent video game characters'
personalities, attitudes and backgrounds
5. A video game producer handles the business and marketing side of game development,
including budget management.
Game producers are the people who put together everything necessary to develop a
game. They work to prevent delays or problems and provide input to team members
while promoting the game. Depending on the size of the team, they may work in several
roles or delegate some work to project managers or fellow game producers.
Because their responsibilities depend on what the team needs each day or the scope of
the project, game producers have a wide range of responsibilities and skills. A game
producer understands all parts of creating a game so they can help any member of the
team with problems or questions they might have.
What is a game producer?
6. Game producers manage the team members who work together to make a video game.
They may begin by raising the funds to create the game, hiring and training team
members and creating a timeline for the game's development. They also manage the
project's budget and negotiate contracts.
Because they create the project's timeline, game producers have knowledge of all parts
of the game's production, including programming and digital art, so they can accurately
estimate how long each part of the project will take to complete. This also allows them
to answer questions that might involve in-depth technical knowledge.
Game producers may develop the overall game concept and give feedback on artistic
choices such as character design and backgrounds. On some projects, they may provide
more substantial creative input, and larger projects might have multiple game
producers who collaborate on the project. They may present the game's concept to
publishers and oversee marketing materials for the game if there is no designated
marketing department.
7. Successful game producers have the following skills:
->Art, including animation and digital art
->Budgeting
->Communication
->Computer programming and coding
->Leadership
->Marketing
->Organization
->Planning
->Project management
->Time management
8. The role of a Project Manager is to create and meet targets and deadlines for multiple
projects within a game studio. They manage projects day-to-day and ultimately take
responsibility for reaching objectives.
Project Managers design plans for meeting goals and introduce processes to ensure the
quality of the work. They have to consider many aspects including available budgets,
potential risks, time constraints, and resources.
Experience and knowledge of the gaming industry will help you understand and manage
these elements. Leadership, communication, negotiation skills will help you get the
most out of the people in your teams. And being logical, pragmatic and staying calm
under pressure are traits perfect for this role.
9. WHAT IS A VIDEO GAME PROGRAMMER?
Video game programmers are software engineers that specialize
in creating video games on various platforms, such as PC,
consoles and mobile phones. Aside from being familiar with
coding and computer languages, video game programmers must
also know the particularities of the genre of games they are
working on and various other industry-specific details. They
usually work together with other departments, such as game art,
game design, animation and sound effects, as well as with the
game's producers, to decide on various aspects of game
development.
10. Early game development involved a programmer performing
multiple tasks and even creating the entire game by themselves,
but the complexity of modern gaming meant that video game
programmers had to specialize. Some of their specialties are:
>GAMEPLAY PROGRAMMER
>GAME ENGINE PROGRAMMERS
>PHYSICS ENGINE PROGRAMMERS
>GRAPHICS ENGINE PROGRAMMERS
>UI PROGRAMMERS
>A.I PROGRAMMERS
>AUDIO PROGRAMMERS
>NETWORK PROGRAMMERS
>PORTING PROGRAMMERS
>INPUT PROGRAMMERS
11. WHAT DOES A VIDEO GAME DESIGNER DO?
Video game designers work with a development team to create
and produce video games. They are typically responsible for
creating characters, writing the storyline and designing the
game's mechanics. Video game designers may use their
technical knowledge of computer programming to write and
execute feasible game code.
They also use their creative skills to storyboard plot lines and
design mechanics that will appeal to customers. Video game
designers work closely with video game developers and other
artists to create games that are challenging, rewarding and
profitable.
12. >Designing and developing concepts for new games
>Writing plots, creating characters and deciding on themes for games
>Using specialized tools to storyboard, draw and write their ideas
>Pitching their ideas for new concepts to their supervisors or management
>Collaborating with game developers to design mechanics that complement the
story
>Ensuring that their games meet their employer's standards for quality and content
>Enforcing deadlines for other designers and managing a game's production schedule
>Testing their creations and supervising beta testing sessions
>Checking their games for any errors or issues related to game-play, interface,
animation, audio or art style
>Consulting with the marketing team to help create effective advertising campaigns
for new games
13. WHAT IS A GAME ARTIST?
A game artist, or 3D artist, is someone
who designs the aesthetic features of
mainly video games. They're typically
artistically inclined, with strong skills in
3D animation, modeling and 3D art,
along with a passion for video games.
Game artists work alongside the
production and development teams to
ensure the aesthetics of a game match
the style, tone and vision of the creative
director or studio. Game artists typically
work full time and have at least a
bachelor's degree.
14. Game artists have various duties depending on their
contribution to specific projects. These duties may include:
Designing 3D models
A game artist may design 3D models for the game's characters,
creatures, scenery and other assets. For example, a game
designer might sketch a design for a unique character for a role-
playing game, import that sketch to 3D sketch or modeling
software and create an initial design mockup for the creative
director's approval. Once the artist has approval for their
designs, they focus on filling in details and making the models
match the other aesthetics of the game. They also help ensure
that the concept art, 3D models and other visual assets all align
under the same design requirements.
15. -What is a video game level designer?
A video game level designer is a professional who is
responsible for creating game stages. They ensure
that the layout and characters they create function
within the pre-established rules of the game. These
professionals are intentional with their designs, and
their role requires them to think about the game
mechanics, player capabilities and limitations and
discoverable prizes or situations that only some
game users may encounter. Level designers creates
level environments and events that furthers the story
of the game overall, contributing to its tone,
challenges and character development.
16. Video game level designers create and develop a single level of a game, rather
than the entire product. Gameplay designers provide these professionals with
specifications, allowing them to add details to the game according to a
predetermined plan and set guidelines. Video game level designers create are
typically responsible for creating the events, objects and obstacles of the level
they develop. They can also create the characters, including their appearances,
behaviors and potential actions within the game.
These professionals usually begin by creating a physical sketch or using 2-D
software drawing software to organize various details of the level they intend to
develop. Once the game designer approves the 2-D designed, these
professionals can then create their 3-D iterations. They consider several
variables throughout the design process, including the flow of events that can
occur, the actions that players can take and challenges they may encounter
throughout the level.
17. what does a game tester do?
A game tester, or quality assurance tester, plays video
games that are under development to check for errors, also
known as glitches or bugs. Game testers normally work for
video game companies, often in close connection with
programmers and other technical members of the
development team. They are expected to test extensively,
often repeating game levels multiple times to make sure
they have tested every possible permutation of play.
As well as playing games, game testers take note of any
gameplay errors they find along with steps on how to
recreate those errors. They communicate these problems to
the development team so they can correct them.
