This document introduces e-portfolios and provides guidance on creating an effective presentation e-portfolio. It explains that an e-portfolio is an online collection of one's work that can be used for career and educational planning purposes. It highlights key components to include such as personal characteristics, experiences, accomplishments, knowledge, and skills. Students are advised to select their best samples that support the purpose of demonstrating what they have learned and the qualities they can offer an employer or educational institution. Instructions are provided on setting up portfolio pages in Wikispace and including artifacts, research, and projects to showcase abilities.

2. What is an E-Portfolio? A collection of your work that can be used to: Plan your career Apply for: A job A post secondary institution that might interest you (i.e.: colleges, certification programs, technical schools) Documents what you have learned.

3. Why do you need an E-Portfolio? Identifies the qualities you can offer an organization. (ex. employer, internship placement, college and other post secondary institutions) Builds confidence in what you can achieve Documents what you have accomplished Helps to identify where you want to go next It gets peoples attention!

5. What goes into an E-Portfolio? 2 types of portfolio. The “working” portfolio. Holds everything The “presentation” portfolio. A subset of the working portfolio arranged to tell a story about you. Includes best samples of your work that support the purpose of the portfolio.
