Application And Evaluation Model For The Software Product...
The ISO9126 is a specification and evaluation model for the software product quality
cite{idri2013use}. Due to the limitations of mobile environments (such as energy autonomy
constraints, limited storage capacity, variable bandwidth, hardware heterogeneities, etc), this
quality system is not well suitable to be entirely applied to these types of environments. Therefore,
further analysis is needed in order to identify which aspects from this standard are applicable to
mobile environments. Such analysis was done by Idri et al cite{idri2013use} in which they created
a framework for identifying the quality characteristics shown in ISO 9126that may be impacted by
the limitations in the mobile domain.

Themes In John Steinbeck s Of Mice And Men
The sun climbed up the sky, shining the fields a brilliant golden. The barley stalks waved
majestically in the wind. A lush valley filled with green willows and shrubs lied past the fields.
On the other side of the field, the ranch was overshadowed by the large and strong Gabilans. A
herd of rabbits bounded through the valley, and sat on the fluffy grass, watching a large grey hulk
stand lifelessly in the center of the field. A large cloud meandered over the Gabilans, changing the
well defined brown slopes to an ominous black.
You two know what you doin ? the boss asked.
Yes we do, said George. The boss stared at George and then looked back at Lennie. We re down a

Make sure to watch out for the wind, Whit remarked. The gas clouds also got Curley once, and
believe me, it wasn t pretty. The wind still blew, but Lennie prowled around the fumes, holding his
breath each time he walked near it.
Damn, why we gotta work in the sun while the tart can jus prance around an the boss can jus relax
in his house.
I hate workin this job too, but we gotta make a living, George said. How else can we do it?
Besides, you might get lucky one day and become like the other guys.
Whit laughed. That s a good one. Everyone says that they ll get their own land. But nobody never
get it. There ain t enough land for everyone in the world and guys like us, we never gonna get
land, no matter what we do. Lennie interrupted, But not us, we re gonna have our own land and

were you, I would jus take my pay an spend it on something worth enjoying. You wanna go in
town with us? Gonna go to Old Susy s and play some snooker. You ll have a hella fun time.
Lennie looked at George s menacing face, and said, I... no I m awlright.

Persuasive Essay On Renewable Energy
As the impacts of climate change continue to worsen, the time to make large scale alterations in
our way of life is now, but hesitancy is creating roadblocks for these necessary adjustments
especially within the energy industry. Al Gore, former Vice President, Congressman, and
presidential candidate, attempts to promote change in this sector by proposing a goal for 100
percent renewable energyin ten years. Gore delivers his speech to an audience advocates and
skeptics at D.A.R. Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. on July 17, 2008, and aims not only to
persuade skeptics of the problems we are facing, but also to show skeptics and advocates alike
how we can completely rethink our electric grid in ten years. Al Gore creates a convincing
argument in 2008 for the case of switching the United States power grid to one run by renewable
energy within ten years by implementing strategic logical appeals which include creating a
sequential progression of facts and challenges, while lacing daunting scientific evidence of the time
throughout his argument.
Gore gives his speech in the nation s capital amongst supporters and critics alike at a time when
great change was occurring, which helps his audience to understand the logic in acting as soon as
possible. Gore makes a point to reference that the nation was at the eve of a presidential election,
in order to portray to the audience that change was coming, and that a new leader may have more
to bring to the issue of climate change

Native American Arts
Native Americans treasure one thing in their culture the most; the arts. Native American art is
the works created by the natives of North America. Art can come in many forms, but are most
present in the visual arts and melodic arts, which can then fall under several categories. Art is
considered a symbol of Native American heritage and the overall culture of world art. It has
been a major part of their lives for thousands of years. The Native American arts serve the
purpose of self expression, which plays an extensive role in everyday Native American life.
Native American art history has been developing for over thousands of years. The arts have a
vast deep connection with spirituality and the Earth. It s a way of life for almost all Native
Americans and can be traced back to cave paintings and stonework. Each piece of art is designed
to reveal the complexity of the diverse tribes. One of the most popular forms of art is jewelry; it
s heavy in symbolism which makes is more easily accepted. Native Americans are better known
for their skills in carving intricate patterns and designs. Often, their inspiration will actually come
from the natural world surrounding them. The arts, to the Native Americans, hold more
symbolism to them than a lot of the other aspects their culture holds and is a part of. Native
American art is created as symbols such as bears, walruses, eagles, and people. Basket and blanket
weaving are a very popular form of art, and the Navajo tribe is most

Essay about Sikh Marriage
Sikh Marriage
Introduction
Expect among some westernised subgroups in the larger Indian cities social mixing between the
sexes is restricted, even in co educational schools. Also, the joint or extended family system is still
the Indian norm. It is in this context, which can only be referred to in passing in this piece of
coursework, that Sikh marriage must be understood. Marriage, traditionally, is not a private matter
between two persons. Through the couple two families become closely connected and into one
family comes a stranger, the wife. She has therefore to be compatible not only with her husband but
with his parents, brothers, their wives and his unmarried sisters. Ideally the marriage ... Show more

The emphasis upon family life as that which God has ordained is such that few Sikhs wish to
remain single. The family assists in finding a partner. Suitability should have as its criteria
virtuous qualities, temperament and age. Then, if they have any place, societal status and
economic position. A final factor will be caste consideration. A Jat is likely to marry a Jat, an
Arora an Arora, a Ramgarhia a Ramgarhia, but there are many exceptions. It is most important that
a Sikh marries a Sikh. The true life of discipleship to the teaching of the Gurus can most
completely be carried out in the householder (grihasthi) state and it is important that it is expressed
in a united family. Mixed marriages are not successful in normal experience, whether the tensions
be caused by conflict between town a village, wealth and poverty, laxity and piety. Kinship has a
negative influence. Sikhs should marry someone whose family (got) as denoted by surname is the
same at the distance of the four grandparents.
Describe a Sikh wedding ceremony
The wedding will normally take place at the bride s village and may be celebrated on the flat
rooftop, in a courtyard, garden or in the gurdwara anywhere so long as the Guru Granth Sahib is
present. The groom s party, traditionally comprised only

It turns out that Anna approached Wagner, saying that she was his long lost niece, when he knew
for a fact that he had no living relatives but decided soon decided to let her help him with things
around the house. Neighbors of Wagner claimed to have spent several hours in Wagner s apartment
after his death. Moving onto the next victim, Anna befriended Olive Luella Koehler, an elderly
lady who lived in the same apartment building as Wagner. Investigators learned that Anna
became friends with her, which included her bring her ice cream cone treats. After consuming
one of the treats, Mrs. Koehler had to be admitted to the hospital. It is not surely known if the ice
cream had anything to do with her becoming sick, but oddly while she was in the hospital, some
of her valuables had been stolen from her residence. As the case is coming along, the
investigators suspect Anna that she is poisoning her elderly patients to steal their money and

documented anti gay hate crimes in American history. Prior to his death, Matthew Shepard, was

be an outstanding member of the community. On the night of October 6, 1998, upon leaving a bar

According to the American Psychological Association (APA), psychologists provide services with
populations and in areas only within the boundaries of their competence, based on their education,
training, supervised experience, consultation study, or professional experience, together with
safeguarding my understanding of factors associated with age, gender, gender identity, sexual
orientation, etc. (APA, 2017, 2.01a, 2.01b). Along the same lines, psychologists do not engage in
unfair discrimination or harassment based on age, gender, gender identify, sexual orientation, etc.
(APA, 2017, 3.01, 3.03). Thus, although in this case I would be treating Matthew s parents or
family, they were deeply affected by the outcome of a gruesome anti gay hate crime, therefore I
would need to ensure that I would not be inclined to discriminate in any way. Furthermore, even
though at the time of Matthew s assault there was not any legislation regarding hate crimes that
referred to anti gay acts and same sex marriage was not yet legalized, as an ethical psychologist it
is important to remain cognizant that regardless of any conflicts between ethics and the law or
regulations, under no circumstances should psychologists use said law or regulations to justify or

Coming Of Age And Adolescence In The 21st Century
INTRODUCTION
The Encyclopedia of World Problems and Human Potential identifies that the current lack of rites
of passage in modern, industrialised socities is a global problem, resulting in a serious
breakdown in the process of maturing (Grimes 2000) for adolescents moving from childhood to
adulthood, specifically. To move through adolescence in the modern, Western world is a highly
individualised experience, meaning that it differs between each individual person and also that it
is a largely solitary process; coming of age in the 21st century means learning to stand alone as a
self sufficient person (Arnett, 1998) who is independently responsible for their own guidance and
decision making among a wide range of possibilities (Arnett, ... Show more content on

It is said that high school graduation ceremonies most closely resemble the structure and function
of a more traditional rites of passage ceremony in the modern world. However, the high school
graduation ceremony does not prepare or initiate youth with the practical skills or discernments
necessary to proceed successfully in living outside of the home (Hamitlon Hamilton, 2008); it is a
superficial event that publically acknowledges a youth s supposed maturing but neglects to
include, generally, any of the practical work of identity building that was a central facet of
traditional ceremonies. High school graduation ceremonies serve only to signify an academic
success or a coming of age, but the popular notion that maturity means to be academically
successful or to reach a particular age alone misses the most important part of the process, which is
that work is

John Wesley Movement Of Grace
The principle element of John Wesley s theology is the supernatural working of God s grace. As
developed by Collins, for Wesley the Christian life was a journey made only possible by the
working of God s grace (Collins, 2007). Through the entire work of God and man, God s nature
of grace is evident. Wesley describes the movement of God s grace in and through man in what
he describes as the Via Salutis or the Way of Salvation. Furthermore, the Via Salutis address
several facets of grace that Wesley identifies, including; prevenient grace, convincing grace, saving
grace, assurance, sanctifying grace and glorifying grace (Collins, 2007). The movement of grace is
defined as prevenient grace, or preemptive grace. Prevenient grace as described... Show more

Wesley s intent is clear. There is a maturing and yielding process that every follower of Christ
must submit to in order to discover the depth and riches of God s love. As Mulholland describes
(Mulholland Barton, 2017), there is a great union to be had between God and man. Within that
union is the transforming power to discover oneness with God. A union that creates oneness that
relinquishes self control and yields to the eternal transforming power of God s grace. Further this
process of yielding, uniting, maturing, and pursuing is the central theme of Wesley s desire for
every man, woman, and child to experience the depth of God s holy

Underage Drinking And The Long Term Effect
There has been a large amount of research regarding underage drinking and the long term effect
that it can have on a person s body and their mental state. The public is often informed of phases and
activities that underage students are partaking in that can be extremely harmful to themselves that
they are not aware of. In the journal article The Use of Caffeinated Alcoholic Beverages Among
Underage Drinkers: Results of a National Survey they examine the relationship between the
tendencies underage drinkers who drinknon traditional caffeinated alcoholic beverages and
traditionally caffeinated alcoholic beverages. The study defines non traditional CABs as Pre
Mixed Sodas or Energy Drinks with Liquor added and defined traditional CABs as Liquor with
soda, coffee, or tea added by the beverage consumer.
Previous research in this field has led to the determination that the consumption of caffeinated
alcoholic beverages leads to an increased level of high risk behavior among adolescents and
young adults. Some of these high risk behaviors include driving while intoxicated, unprotected
sexual activity, and illegal substance abuse. In addition, heavy binge drinking is widely accepted
as contributing to neurocognitive deficits and increased morbidity and mortality. Much of the
previous research has focused on college aged young adults. This study hopes to greatly shed light
on the age group from 13 to 17 years old (pre collegiate adolescents). In addition, the study hopes to

The Facts About The Achievement Gap Summary
How should society handle the perceived differences between races when it comes to education?
The goal of both researchers is to narrow the academic gap between white and black students.
Both authors attribute the gap between the academic scores of black and white students from
opposite sides of racial identity. As Dr. Beverly Daniels Tatum, President of Spelman College and
clinical psychologist has written an article entitled Why are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in
the Cafeteria? Her approach is from the perspective of the student and how they perceive their role
and upper limits while maintaining their place in their peer group s expectations of their race. Dr.
Diane Ravitch, a research professor of educationat New York University, has written an article
entitled The Facts about the Achievement Gap. Her approach is from the perspective of how
schools and society implicitly or explicitly cast students into achievement tracks based on their race.
Both approach the same idea about racial identity, but they have different solutions, such as peer
groups, the schoolboard, and who is right about the solution. First, Tatum suggests... Show more

Richard Coley of the Educational Testing Service wrote an overview of the black white
achievement gap over the course if the twentieth century and concluded that the period in which
that gap narrowed most was the 1970s and 1980s (Ravitch 365). Over the past generation, there
was a remarkable decline from the blacks and Hispanic students who score the lowest on National
Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) testing. When the NAEP did not help with the gap

Uranium Mining Essay
Uranium was discovered by Martin Klaproth in 1789. Klaproth was a German Chemist that
discovered Uranium in a mineral call pitchblende. It was named after Uranus, the planet, which
had been discovered eight years earlier. Uranium occurs in most rocks in concentrations of 2 to 4
parts per million and is common in the Earth s crust. This highly density element is used in keels
of yachts and as counterweights for aircraft control surfaces, as well as for radiation shielding. This
element principal uses is in fuel for nuclear reactors and the main raw material for nuclear weapons.

Major mining are done in Australia and Canada, which has been done for over 40 years. Safety
regulations today are among the most comprehensive and stringent in the world. It has been

occupational settings, the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) regulates the limits of
worker exposures based on the solubility of the uranium compound. The Department of Energy

worker exposure to uranium isotopes. OSHA has established the permissible exposure level
(PEL) for airborne uranium in the workplace as 0.25 milligrams cubic meter at a time weighted
average (TWA) of a 40 hour workweek. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has established a

If your commercial freezer isn t freezing and you need to get it working right away, here are five
things you can check on while waiting for your technician to arrive. Having a commercial freezer
down can cost your business a lot of money, which is why you should try to troubleshoot what is
wrong even before the technician arrives. #1 Defrost Timer If you turned your thermostat down to
a colder temperature, and you noticed that your freezer failed to get any colder, the defrost timer
might be to blame. You can manually check the accuracy of your defrost timer. To do this, you
need to take a screwdriver and insert it into the advancement pinion. Then, turn the screwdriver

freezer. #3 Compressor In order for your freezer to stay cold, the compressor has to work
properly. Your compressor should make the same, steady sound as it works. It should almost
just feel like background noise. If your compressor is instead making humming or clicking
noises, a part inside of it needs to be replaced. If you can t hear your compressor running at all,
then there is defiantly a problem with it. Let your technician know how your compressor sounds
when you call them; this will help them know what to do when they get to your business. #4
Evaporator Coils The evaporator coils are located in the rear of your freezer. Check them and see if
they are frozen over. If they are frozen over, the air in your freezer will not be able to pass over
them and your freezer will not be able to stay cold. If they are frozen, you may need to remove the
food from your freezer and manually defrost it. Your technician may be able to defrost them more

Adderall Vs Ginseng
Ginseng is a common herbal remedy used to boost energy. There are three main species of
Ginseng including Oriental, Siberian, and American, however, all species have the common
side effects of reduced stress, improved vitality, and improved immune system. Subsequently,
there are also many alternatives that are prescription remedies for lack of energy, one of which
being Adderall. Adderall, also known by its generic name and drug classification as
amphetamine and dextroamphetamine, is generally used to treat narcolepsy and attention
deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), however, is also less popularly used as an energy
booster. Although both of the drugs are similar in function, they are very different when
compared and contrasted. While both drugs are similar in utility, their administration and
dosage forms vary. Being that Ginseng is available in both herb and root form, it can be
transformed to be administered in several different ways. For example, for a more preferred and
natural administration, Ginseng can easily be brewed, chewed, swallowed, or stewed to be
ingested, however, it can also be found in other, less popular forms such as extract or capsule

believed that after they died they would go to the afterlife. Which was referred to as The Field of

Hamlet And Claudius Influence On Hamlet
William Shakespeare is one of the most influential figures in the development of modern
literature. Many of his works have spanned over centuries and have laid down the foundation to
how literature is interpreted by today s audience. His works are considered to be true masterpieces
because of his ability to bring characters to life through the use of various literary devices. William
Shakespearehas written and directed many notable plays. One of his famous works includes the

King Richard II Analysis
Richard II was written by William Shakespeare in 1595 and was performed as a play, which is a
young king by the name of Richard II (Hacht, 2007). King Richard II, ruler of England, but has
not done so well as King, which at the end, his crown will be taken away and given to his cousin,
Henry Bolingbroke due to him abusing his power and not taking advice very well from his
advisers, family, or his close friends. Henry s father, John of Gaunt, Duke of Lancaster, who was is
also King Richard II s uncle, before dying, speaks about his nephew leadership and describes
England in a way of a garden, that is not been well taken care of and is dying due to the poor
leadership of King Richard II. John of Gaunt, a man that believes God alone is more powerful than
any King is, shows his loyalty to his country right before his death.
While being King is not an easy job, John of Gaunt sees how his nephew s leadership is not what
it should be and describes what appears to be King Richard destroying the land, which Gaunt
described it, has England, the unweeded garden (Bethel, 2017). Gaunt is now very ill and
before he dies wants to let everyone know what he thinks of King Richard and want he sees
under the leadership of his King Richard. In Act 2 Scene 1, Lines 42 44, Gaunt states, This other
Eden, demi paradise, this fortress built by Nature for herself, against infection and the hand of war

Analysis Of Howard Zinn s Indians History Of The Us...
History 2112
Critical Analysis Paper #1
Dr. Pitts
James Hamby
Monday Wednesday 8:30pm
Patriot s vs. People s Howard Zinn s, Peoples History of the US and Larry Schweikart s, Patriots
History of the US are two analytical views on history that most people would consider politically
conflicting. Zinn s Marxist book was widely praised by liberal activist and Schweikart s book is
greatly publicized by conservatives like Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck. These two widely
known historians turned their focus on writing two historical pieces that would fill in the
historical holes that weren t being taught in the educational systems. It created a type of diverse
learning that made for a great argument while still allowing the readers to understand all sides
of the topics at hand. Zinn really dismissed the common white mans history and focused his
approach on a multiple minority perspective. Schweikart s book is very different in the sense he
takes aim at Zinn as he targets words like great discovery and war on terror which Zinn only used
as scare quotes. Schweikart s book really reads like old history textbooks from the moral principals
of the American founders that built this nation to the ideological view of American prosperity. No
matter who shares the views of the political perspectives or condemns them because of its bias
stances both historians felt responsible in writing the history of the United States.
Zinn did not believe in an unbiased approach to history

Keynes Macroeconomic Theory Essay
How did Keynes s idea of the reasons for the macro economic instability challenge the prevailing
economic orthodoxy?
After 100 years of the industrialization era modern economics began to see a change and shift of
ideas. These ideas were brought to the front by John Maynard Keynes, who in 1936 transformed
much of the modern economics by a single book The General Theory of Employment, Interest and
Money. Keynes also wrote other titles as well as В‘A Tract on Monetary Reform (1923) which was
an attempt to secure a monetary policy instead of the gold standard.
Keynes (2002) believed that the stable economy of Britain was more desirable than the stable
value of the pound on the foreign exchange. He argued against going back to the gold ... Show more

Keynes also suggested that to keep both in balance a managed monetary system should be
introduced. Keynes published this book during the Wall Street crash and yet again Keynes s idea
was not paid much attention to as economists as well as government officials were not aware of
how serious the depression was going to be.
Then Keynes wrote his book В‘The General Theory of Employment, Interest, and money but the
ideas in this book were inspired by the work of other economists.
Michael Tugan Baranowsky s development was later an important part of Keynes s analysis. He
said that the imbalance between savings and investments were at the heart of the business cycle. He
said that the imbalance could not be overcome by changes in the interest rates, as he argued that
there were reasons than the interest rate that motivated people to save. An even more important
breakthrough was made by a Swedish economist.
Knut Wicksell was the Swedish economist, and it was based on his ideas that Keynes developed the
theory of national income which led to the Keynesian revolution.
Say s Law suggested that any money saved will eventually get invested, and if there was some
imbalance in savings and investment it would be fixed by a rise or fall in interest rate. However,

Freedman Research Paper
A freedman or freedwoman is a former slave who has been released from slavery, usually by
legal means. Historically, slaves were freed either by manumission (granted freedom by their
owner) or emancipation (granted freedom as part of a larger group). The life of a freedman
changed in the years 1865 through 1896 in many different ways. Socially the amounts of
segregation intensity increased dramatically. Politically freedman could vote, there was what s
known as The African AmericanCongress , and the 15th amendment was created. Economically
sharecropping was growing in popularity.
Segregation is separating a certain person from a larger group of people based on what they look
like, for instance an african american person vs a white person. Segregation was shown in many
different ways like, signs that would get put up by a drinking fountain with an arrow pointing one
way for whites and an arrow pointing another way for colored people. In 1896 the case Plessy v.
Ferguson brought a ton of attention to the law that basically said equal but separate . The Article

The African American Congress was created when the first two african americans, were voted into
congress after the Reconstruction Era. Freedman could also vote, the voting rules and regulations
were pretty strict though. President Johnson used the fifteenth amendment to exercise the voting
rights of african american people, or as they were also known as freedmen. The fifteenth
amendment states that citizens should have the right to vote no matter race, color, or previous life
styles. All of these different things changed the life of a freedman because they were so opposite to
what they were living like. Although everything was perfect things were still better. (DOCS

Nautical Crib Bedding Sets for Boys
Creating the ideal nursery is always an exciting, yet challenging, thing to do, especially when it
comes to decorating for a little boy. Most people want their little girls to be little princesses, but
their little boys to be little men. They do not want to fill a nursery with baby ish items. They want
for it to look like a young man s room. Perhaps that is why so many parents choose nautical crib
bedding sets for boys.
Why Parents Choose the Nautical Theme

Identity Theft And Its Impact On The State Of Florida
Identity theft is a negative issue in the entire United States, but the state of Florida is where it is
most common and where there is the most cases. Due to Florida having the most identity theft
complaints, it is important to question just how vulnerable the state is to this form of fraud.
However, it is evident that Florida needs to find more efficient ways to limit identity theft
drastically, since it has led the nation in identity theft for the past three years. This paper will
examine the steps that are involved in identity theft and the areas that are most negatively affected
by this crime, in the state, In addition, this paper will examine the best strategies that individuals
can utilize to prevent identity theft and protect their personal information, such as shredding
paperwork that contain sensitive information before throwing it away and not carrying a Social
Security card with them. The paper will make the readers understand how serious of a crime
identity theft is and why it happens in Florida more often than any other state in the United States.

Individuals With Learning Disabilities Are All Unique
Individuals with learning disabilities are all unique. A learning disability, to me, is a condition that
changes the way an individual learns and impacts how they are able to express the knowledge they
have learned. Learning disabilities are separate from physical limitations because, according to
IDEA 04, learning disabilities impact an individual s ability to listen, think, speak, read, write, spell,
or do mathematical calculations. An individual with a learning disabilitymost often does not appear
at the surface to look different from their peers, but they require additional supports, strategies and
instruction in order to be a successful student. I believe their brain is hardwired to learn differently
from the typical student, and it is my job, as the special educationteacher, to find out how the
student learns best and provide them with the tools they need.
In addition to knowing how students with learning disabilities learn differently, I also know they
have to work harder than the average student. I have learned that my students need to establish
positive relationships with their teacher. These individuals need to know there is someone who
believes in them who is also able to motivate them to continue to give their best each and every day.
They may also need frequent breaks and a change of pace in instruction and lessons to keep
maintain their attention and effort. Appropriate accommodations and sometimes modifications are
also important for our learning

The Iran Contra Affair Involving Ronald Reagan
In class, we discussed the Iran Contra Affair involving Ronald Reagan. However, we did not go in
depth about public opinion, George H.W. Bush s involvement, or how people feel about it today.
This paper will seek to continue this topic. For example, the Iran Contra polls showed that most
Americans did not believe Regan s cover stories, yet there was never a push for him to pay the
political price, which would ultimately have been impeachment. Thus this paper will further
attempt to understand the mindset of people that allowed these events to occur with little penalty.
The Public Opinion
To begin, Congress, by fair vote, decided in the 1980s that the United States should not assist the
contras fighting the socialist Sandinista government of Nicaragua (Corn 2006). Yet, the Reagan
White House concocted several imaginative ways to pull an end run around democracy (Corn
2006). Reagan s decisions such as selling weapons to Iran were made with the knowledge that he
would not suffer a decline in presidential approval. Thus, Reagan took various steps that were
violations of law that not only involved himself, but members of the CIA. By 1986, two big
revelations happened that caused this scandal to abrupt publically. The first was the shoot down of
a cargo plane over Nicaragua and the admission by the sole survivor that the plane had been
delivering arms to the Contras against congressional restrictions (Kornbluh 2011). The second,
revelation was the news story of Lebanon that stated

Till We Have Faces Summary
C.S. Lewis never claimed to be a theologian in fact he claimed quite the opposite. His works fell
more into the category of apologetics than anything else, and he delved into Christian literature,
science fiction, non fiction, as well as a host of other genres, but never claimed to be doctrine
savvy. However In his classic work, Till We Have Faces (a retelling of the Greco Roman myth of
Cupid and Psyche), C.S. Lewis explores and illustrates the complexities of the modern man s as
well as his own divine search for Godand justice. He does this by using the princess Orual s ardent
questioning and denouncement of her own gods and the fervid, pursuant love that the god Cupid
and the princess Psyche share as examples of the search for Christ that all of humanity must
experience.
A gentle discord between her mind and heart, even as a child Psyche feels she does not belong
with the mortals around her. Nor, however, does Lewis s Psyche see herself as a goddess as the
rest of her nation does. She is instead trapped between worlds, and is not allowed to be fully
human or fully divine. This all changes when Psyche is to be sent to her presumable death as a
punishment for being called more beautiful than the goddess Venus herself. In Apuleius The

Lewis also uses the court of the gods to illustrate the intimate moments when men may bring their

The Importance Of Setting In Cress By Meyer
The setting in a book is so important it can make the plot more exciting or very long and dreary.
The setting can make or break the characters in the book. When the author does not explain the
setting every well it can make the reader confused as to what else is going on in the plot. In Cress
there are examples of an exciting setting, how the characters develop, and how the great detail of the
setting is explained.
In Cress, Meyer the author, shows the diversity of a setting can keep the reader on their toes.
Meyer tells the stories of old fairytales that we all know and makes them new. We follow Cinder
and Captain Thorn out of Bajine out to outer space to save Cress that is in a satellite and then to
the middle of the sahara desert. Her shoulder collided with Niels and she started to fall backward,
but then he was gripping her by the elbow and hauling her against him. (Meyer 328). In this Cress
has been captured and brought to the doctor that likes to test the Lunar to get a cure for the plague.

What Is The Relationship Between Mother Courage And Her...
The titular character in Mother Courage and Her Children illuminates an important idea when
considering a character s actions in a time of languishing prosperity. Yet, the characters pivotal
actions catalyze the fatality of her three children and in turn represent how morals, in times of

uses his innovative approach to theatre to force the audience to detach themselves from their
common knowledge of what theatre is and how it chews over hot button issues. He alienates his

The primordial soup hypothesis is a hypothesis that was identified by a Russian chemist named

thought that that the basic building blocks of life came from a simple molecule that was formed in
the atmosphere. Evidence that they used to create this hypothesis was that they observed a

Geisha Ideology
The concept of geisha originated in Japan in the 1600s. The initial geisha culture was constructed as
female entertainers, who act as hostesses to serve, entertain and perform for male clients, usually by

This is apparent in the Japanese culture, and the Japanese s ideologies of geishas are refined, well

The Need for Health Care Reform Essay
Abstract It is time for our government to take a step away from war and look to meeting the
needs of their own citizens. The need for health care reform is more evident than ever. The
recession of America has caused many people hardship due to many lay offs and the fact that
insurance premiums have risen drastically. Many families are not receiving the health care that

A government run, public option should be implemented as soon as possible. Out of all the
American public, over 47 million Americans have no health care insurance. The cost of health
care premiums has increased by 114 percent between 1999 and 2007. The everyday working
person s income has only increased by 27 percent ( Pay for What Works, 2008). In the article,
Cost Effective Medical Treatment (2008), it states: Health care costs are rising rapidly and it s
believed that much of the rise in medical expenditures is attributed to the use of medical
technologies that are too expensive to be justified . The health care industry is relying on high

still diagnosed and cared for. Of course, we have medical equipment now that can help personal
conditions that could not be treated before, but are we overlooking the cheaper, just as efficient
ways? Why should surgery automatically be performed when there is a medication that can handle
the problem first? No wonder why so many Americans cannot afford health

Due to the limitations of mobile environments (such as energy autonomy constraints, limited storage capacity, variable bandwidth, hardware heterogeneities, etc), this quality system is not well suitable to be entirely applied to these types of environments. A lush valley filled with green willows and shrubs lied past the fields. On the other side of the field, the ranch was overshadowed by the large and strong Gabilans. A herd of rabbits bounded through the valley, and sat on the fluffy grass, watching a large grey hulk stand lifelessly in the center of the field. A large cloud meandered over the Gabilans, changing the well defined brown slopes to an ominous black. You two know what you doin ? the boss asked. Yes we do, said George. • 4. Persuasive Essay On Renewable Energy As the impacts of climate change continue to worsen, the time to make large scale alterations in our way of life is now, but hesitancy is creating roadblocks for these necessary adjustments especially within the energy industry. Al Gore, former Vice President, Congressman, and presidential candidate, attempts to promote change in this sector by proposing a goal for 100 percent renewable energyin ten years. Gore delivers his speech to an audience advocates and skeptics at D.A.R. Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. on July 17, 2008, and aims not only to persuade skeptics of the problems we are facing, but also to show skeptics and advocates alike how we can completely rethink our electric grid in ten years. Al Gore creates a convincing argument in 2008 for the case of switching the United States power grid to one run by renewable energy within ten years by implementing strategic logical appeals which include creating a sequential progression of facts and challenges, while lacing daunting scientific evidence of the time throughout his argument. Gore gives his speech in the nation s capital amongst supporters and critics alike at a time when great change was occurring, which helps his audience to understand the logic in acting as soon as possible. Gore makes a point to reference that the nation was at the eve of a presidential election, in order to portray to the audience that change was coming, and that a new leader may have more to bring to the issue of climate change ... Coming Of Age And Adolescence In The 21st Century INTRODUCTION The Encyclopedia of World Problems and Human Potential identifies that the current lack of rites of passage in modern, industrialised socities is a global problem, resulting in a serious breakdown in the process of maturing (Grimes 2000) for adolescents moving from childhood to adulthood, specifically. To move through adolescence in the modern, Western world is a highly individualised experience, meaning that it differs between each individual person and also that it is a largely solitary process; coming of age in the 21st century means learning to stand alone as a self sufficient person (Arnett, 1998) who is independently responsible for their own guidance and decision making among a wide range of possibilities (Arnett, ... Michael Tugan Baranowsky s development was later an important part of Keynes s analysis. He said that the imbalance between savings and investments were at the heart of the business cycle. He said that the imbalance could not be overcome by changes in the interest rates, as he argued that there were reasons than the interest rate that motivated people to save. An even more important breakthrough was made by a Swedish economist. Knut Wicksell was the Swedish economist, and it was based on his ideas that Keynes developed the theory of national income which led to the Keynesian revolution. • 30. Individuals With Learning Disabilities Are All Unique Individuals with learning disabilities are all unique. A learning disability, to me, is a condition that changes the way an individual learns and impacts how they are able to express the knowledge they have learned. Learning disabilities are separate from physical limitations because, according to IDEA 04, learning disabilities impact an individual s ability to listen, think, speak, read, write, spell, or do mathematical calculations. An individual with a learning disabilitymost often does not appear at the surface to look different from their peers, but they require additional supports, strategies and instruction in order to be a successful student. I believe their brain is hardwired to learn differently from the typical student, and it is my job, as the special educationteacher, to find out how the student learns best and provide them with the tools they need. In addition to knowing how students with learning disabilities learn differently, I also know they have to work harder than the average student. I have learned that my students need to establish positive relationships with their teacher. These individuals need to know there is someone who believes in them who is also able to motivate them to continue to give their best each and every day. They may also need frequent breaks and a change of pace in instruction and lessons to keep maintain their attention and effort. Appropriate accommodations and sometimes modifications are also important for our learning ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 32. The Iran Contra Affair Involving Ronald Reagan In class, we discussed the Iran Contra Affair involving Ronald Reagan. However, we did not go in depth about public opinion, George H.W. Bush s involvement, or how people feel about it today. This paper will seek to continue this topic. For example, the Iran Contra polls showed that most Americans did not believe Regan s cover stories, yet there was never a push for him to pay the political price, which would ultimately have been impeachment. Thus this paper will further attempt to understand the mindset of people that allowed these events to occur with little penalty. The Public Opinion To begin, Congress, by fair vote, decided in the 1980s that the United States should not assist the contras fighting the socialist Sandinista government of Nicaragua (Corn 2006). Yet, the Reagan White House concocted several imaginative ways to pull an end run around democracy (Corn 2006). Reagan s decisions such as selling weapons to Iran were made with the knowledge that he would not suffer a decline in presidential approval. Thus, Reagan took various steps that were violations of law that not only involved himself, but members of the CIA. By 1986, two big revelations happened that caused this scandal to abrupt publically. The first was the shoot down of a cargo plane over Nicaragua and the admission by the sole survivor that the plane had been delivering arms to the Contras against congressional restrictions (Kornbluh 2011). The second, revelation was the news story of Lebanon that stated ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 35. Till We Have Faces Summary C.S. Lewis never claimed to be a theologian in fact he claimed quite the opposite. His works fell more into the category of apologetics than anything else, and he delved into Christian literature, science fiction, non fiction, as well as a host of other genres, but never claimed to be doctrine savvy. However In his classic work, Till We Have Faces (a retelling of the Greco Roman myth of Cupid and Psyche), C.S. Lewis explores and illustrates the complexities of the modern man s as well as his own divine search for Godand justice. He does this by using the princess Orual s ardent questioning and denouncement of her own gods and the fervid, pursuant love that the god Cupid and the princess Psyche share as examples of the search for Christ that all of humanity must experience. A gentle discord between her mind and heart, even as a child Psyche feels she does not belong with the mortals around her. Nor, however, does Lewis s Psyche see herself as a goddess as the rest of her nation does. She is instead trapped between worlds, and is not allowed to be fully human or fully divine. This all changes when Psyche is to be sent to her presumable death as a punishment for being called more beautiful than the goddess Venus herself. In Apuleius The Golden Ass (the most classic ... The setting can make or break the characters in the book. When the author does not explain the setting every well it can make the reader confused as to what else is going on in the plot. In Cress there are examples of an exciting setting, how the characters develop, and how the great detail of the setting is explained. In Cress, Meyer the author, shows the diversity of a setting can keep the reader on their toes. Meyer tells the stories of old fairytales that we all know and makes them new. The titular character in Mother Courage and Her Children illuminates an important idea when considering a character s actions in a time of languishing prosperity. Yet, the characters pivotal actions catalyze the fatality of her three children and in turn represent how morals, in times of survival, waver; the results of tough choices are harsh judgements. Bertolt Brecht, the playwright, uses his innovative approach to theatre to force the audience to detach themselves from their common knowledge of what theatre is and how it chews over hot button issues. The hypothesis explains that life began in a pond or an ocean from a combination of chemicals from the atmosphere. The two scientists thought that that the basic building blocks of life came from a simple molecule that was formed in the atmosphere. Evidence that they used to create this hypothesis was that they observed a molecule that was energized by lightning and rain from the atmosphere that created organic soup.
