Faster wireless
Far and wide.
iPhone 6 has faster LTE download speeds,
and it supports more LTE bands than any
other smartphone so you can roam in more
places. And when connected to Wi-Fi, you’ll
get up to 3x faster speed.
Security. Right at
your fingertip.
The breakthrough Touch ID technology lets
you securely access your iPhone with the
perfect password: your fingerprint. You can
also use it to approve purchases from
iTunes, iBooks, and the App Store without
having to enter the password.
Your wallet.
Without that wallet.
We completely rethought how you pay to make
shopping faster, easier, and more secure.
Apple Pay combines the convenience and
security of Touch ID and Passbook with NFC
technology. So you can use iPhone 6 to pay
in stores and within apps with a single touch.
The biggest iOS
release ever.
iOS 8 is the world’s most advanced mobile
operating system. And with incredible new
capabilities and features designed to make the
most of a larger display, iOS 8 doesn’t just work
seamlessly with iPhone 6. It makes every
experience feel bigger and better.
Design
Design
iPhone at its largest.
And thinnest.
In creating iPhone 6, we scrutinized every element and material. That’s how we
arrived at a smooth, continuous form. A thinner profile made possible by our
thinnest display yet. And intuitively placed buttons. All made with beautiful
anodized aluminum, stainless steel, and glass. It’s a thousand tiny details that add
up to something big. Or in this case, two big things: iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
Design

And thinnest.
Design
An innovative
seamless design.
The first thing you notice when you hold iPhone 6 is
how great it feels in your hand. The cover glass curves
down around the sides to meet the anodized
aluminum enclosure in a remarkable, simplified design.
There are no distinct edges. No gaps. Just a smooth,
seamless bond of metal and glass that feels like one
continuous surface.
Design
Design
Streamlined
Inside and out.
Designing a larger iPhone without making
it feel bigger was no small task. It required
challenging the idea of “big.” It called for
narrowing when the natural inclination was
to expand. It meant condensing powerful
technologies and making chips smaller and
batteries thinner, all while making them
more capable. And it meant engineering
our thinnest, most advanced Multi-Touch
display. All of which yields a dramatically
thin design.

Everything
within reach.
By creating iPhone 6 and iOS 8 together, we optimized the
software to enhance the physical design. iOS swipe gestures
were designed to be more fluid across the seamless form,
making it easy to navigate iPhone with one hand. With new
features like Reachability you can interact with the larger
screen in different ways, too. Simply double touch the Home
button and the entire screen shifts down closer to your thumb.
And to easily navigate Safari or Mail, swipe left to right across
the screen to go backward, or swipe right to left to go forward.
With the new continuous surface of iPhone, all your gestures
now feel smoother than ever.
We also thought about how you use your iPhone every day
and redesigned the buttons to make it even easier to use.
Elongated volume buttons are integrated into the thinner
profile, outlined to make them effortless to find by touch. And
the Sleep/Wake button has a new home on the side of the
device to put it comfortably within reach. The result is an
experience that’s even more intuitive.
Design
The elements of
beautiful design.
To create a larger iPhone that’s extraordinarily light, we
pioneered new display technologies. We carefully
selected every material. Each detail was meticulously
designed, engineered, and crafted until iPhone had an
incredibly thin, continuous form. From the anodized
aluminum and stainless steel to the curve of the
polished glass, iPhone 6 is worth its weight in gold,
silver, and space gray.

Retina HD display
Not just a bigger display.
A better display.
The size of the new, higher-resolution
Retina HD displays on iPhone 6 and
iPhone 6 Plus may be the first thing you
notice. But what you experience is so
much more. With innovations that deliver
higher contrast, dual-domain pixels for
more accurate color at wider viewing
angles, and an improved polarizer, these
are the thinnest, most advanced
Multi-Touch displays we’ve ever made.

Innovation
On full display.
The Retina HD display is your window into everything
you do on iPhone. So it has to be great. And with full
sRGB color standard, higher contrast, and incredible
brightness and white balance, it is.
Retina HD Display
Higher contrast
Rather than using traditional methods to create the higher-resolution Retina HD display, we
developed an advanced process of photo alignment. This involves using UV light to precisely
position the display’s liquid crystals so they lie exactly where they should. Better-aligned crystals
deliver a superior viewing experience, with deeper blacks and sharper text.
Retina HD Display
Wider-angle viewing
Larger displays make sharing easier. To
make sure everyone experiences
stunning clarity, the new Retina HD
display has dual-domain pixels to enable
color accuracy from corner to corner. So
movies and photos stay true, even when
viewing from wider angles.
Retina HD Display
Improved polarizer
Your iPhone goes everywhere you do. And
sometimes that’s outdoors in the sun. With
that in mind, the Retina HD display has an
improved polarizer so you get a clearer view
when you’re wearing sunglasses.

The iSight camera in iPhone 6 features an Apple-designed video encoder
and image signal processor built into the A8 chip. They support advanced
camera and video features, like new Focus Pixels, better face detection,
continuous autofocus, and enhanced noise reduction, so it’s easier to
shoot higher-quality photos and videos.
Technology
Metal raises the game.
To get the greatest graphics performance out of the A8 chip and iOS 8, we introduced
Metal — a new technology that lets developers create highly immersive console-style
games on iPhone. Metal is optimized to allow the CPU and GPU to work together to
deliver detailed graphics and complex visual effects. So every imaginary world you visit
will feel much more realistic.
Technology
M8 coprocessor.
Technology
that moves you forward.
When you’re in motion, the M8 motion coprocessor continuously
measures data from the accelerometer, compass, gyroscope, and
a new barometer. This offloads work from the A8 chip for
improved power efficiency. And now those sensors do even more,
measuring your steps, distance, and elevation changes.
Technology
Go to greater length. And heights.
Barometer
The barometer senses air pressure
to determine your relative
elevation. So as you move, you can
keep track of the elevation you’ve
gained. It can even measure stairs
climbed or hills conquered.
Accelerometer
The accelerometer can measure
your distance for walking and
running. And by using GPS to
calibrate for your running stride,
the sensor more accurately
captures your movement.
Gyroscope
In addition to knowing whether
you’re on the move or stationary,
M8 works with the gyroscope to
detect when you’re driving. It also
kicks into action when you’re taking
panoramic photos or playing
games that react to your movement.

Cameras
The camera that
changed photos
now does the
same for video.
Every day, people take more photos with iPhone
than with any other camera. That’s because the
iSight camera makes it so remarkably easy. Now, in
addition to its large 1.5-micron pixels and ƒ/2.2
aperture, the world’s most popular camera is packed
with new technologies to help everyone take more
great photos.
To make it just as easy to shoot amazing video, we
added new features like the option to capture
1080p HD at 60 fps, 240-fps slo-mo, and time-lapse
video. And you can shoot HD video and then watch
the stunning results on the large Retina HD display.

Your fingerprint is the perfect password.
You always have it with you. And no one
can ever guess what it is. Our breakthrough
Touch ID technology uses a unique
fingerprint identity sensor to make unlocking
your phone easy and secure. And with new
developments in iOS 8 and Touch ID, your
fingerprint will grant you faster access to so
much more.
Touch ID
Your fingerprint.
Your iPhone.
Place your finger on the Home button, and just
like that your iPhone unlocks. Touch ID is capable
of 360-degree readability, which means no matter
what its orientation — portrait, landscape, or
anything in between — your iPhone reads your
fingerprint and knows who you are. And Touch ID
even lets you enroll multiple fingerprints.
Touch ID
The technology
behind Touch ID.
There’s a lot of technology at work below the surface of the
Home button. Touch it and the surrounding stainless steel ring
detects your finger and wakes the capacitive touch sensor. The
laser-cut sapphire crystal surface of the button then directs the
image of your finger to the sensor, which reads beneath the
outer layers of your skin to get a detailed fingerprint. Software
then reads the ridges of your fingerprint and finds the match to
unlock your phone.
Touch ID
Music. Movies.
Books. Apps. Yours
with a single touch.
Touch ID does more than just let you unlock your
iPhone. Your fingerprint can also approve purchases
from iTunes, iBooks, and the App Store, so you don’t
have to enter your password or billing information
again and again. And for the first time, developers
can integrate Touch ID into third-party apps.
Touch ID
Touch. Pay. Go.
Apple Pay lets you use iPhone 6 to pay in hundreds of
thousands of stores with a single touch. Just place your finger
on the Touch ID sensor with your iPhone near the contactless
reader, and your payment is sent. Apple Pay makes it just as
convenient to pay within apps, too.
Apple Pay
Your wallet. Without
the wallet.
Gone are the days of searching for your wallet.
The wasted moments finding the right card. The
swiping and waiting. Now payments happen with

Apple Pay will change how you pay with
breakthrough contactless payment technology

devices you have with you every day. So you can
use your iPhone 6 to pay in an easy, secure, and
private way.

Setup is simple. Passbook already stores your boarding passes, tickets, coupons, and more. Now it can store
your credit and debit cards, too. To get started, you can add the credit or debit card from your iTunes account to
Passbook by simply entering the card security code.
To add a new card on iPhone, use your iSight camera to instantly capture your card information. Or simply type it
in manually. The first card you add automatically becomes your default payment card, but you can go to Passbook
anytime to pay with a different card or select a new default in Settings.
Apple Pay
More secure payments.
Every time you hand over your credit or debit card to pay, your card number and identity are visible.
With Apple Pay, instead of using your actual credit and debit card numbers when you add your card to
Passbook, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted, and securely stored in the Secure
Element, a dedicated chip in iPhone. These numbers are never stored on Apple servers. And when you
make a purchase, the Device Account Number, along with a transaction-specific dynamic security code,
is used to process your payment. So your actual credit or debit card numbers are never shared by
Apple with merchants or transmitted with payment.
Protect your accounts. Even if you lose
your device. If your iPhone is ever lost or
stolen, you can use Find My iPhone to
quickly put your device in Lost Mode so
nothing is accessible, or you can wipe
your iPhone clean completely.
Apple Pay
Keep your
purchases private.
Apple doesn’t save your transaction information. With
Apple Pay, your payments are private. Apple doesn’t store
the details of your transactions so they can’t be tied back to
you. Your most recent purchases are kept in Passbook for

Introducing Apple iPhone 6

  • 1.
  • 3.
  • 4. iPhone 6 isn’t simply bigger — it’s better in every way. Larger, yet dramatically thinner. More powerful, but remarkably power efficient. With a smooth metal surface that seamlessly meets the new Retina HD display. It’s one continuous form where hardware and software function in perfect unison, creating a new generation of iPhone that’s better by any measure.
  • 6. 6.9mm iPHONE 6 7.1mm iPHONE 6 PLUS iPhone at its largest. And thinnest. Developing an iPhone with a larger, more advanced display meant pushing the edge of design. From the seamless transition of glass and metal to the streamlined profile, every detail was carefully considered to enhance your experience. So while its display is larger, iPhone 6 feels just right.
  • 7.
  • 8. Not just a bigger display. A better display. It’s one thing to make a bigger display. It’s something else entirely to make bigger Multi-Touch display with brilliant colors and higher contrast at even wider viewing angles. But that’s exactly what we did with the new Retina HD display. 1334x 750 iPHONE 6 RESOLUTION 1920x 1080 iPHONE 6 PLUS RESOLUTION
  • 9. Hugely powerful. Enormously efficient. Built on 64-bit desktop-class architecture, the new A8 chip delivers more power, even while drive a larger display. The M8 motion coprocessor efficiently gathers data from advanced sensors and a new barometer. And with increased battery life, iPhone 6 lets you do more, for longer than ever.. 64-bit ARCHITECTURE A8CHIP M8MOTION COPROCESSOR
  • 10. The camera that changed photos now and does the same for video. More people take more photos with iPhonethan with any other camera. And now the iSight camera has a new sensor with Focus Pixels and new video features, like 1080p HD at 60fps, slo-mo at 240fps, and time-lapse video mode. So you’ll have more reasons to capture more moments on video, too.
  • 11. The camera that changed photos now and does the same for video.
  • 12. Faster wireless Far and wide. iPhone 6 has faster LTE download speeds, and it supports more LTE bands than any other smartphone so you can roam in more places. And when connected to Wi-Fi, you’ll get up to 3x faster speed.
  • 13. Security. Right at your fingertip. The breakthrough Touch ID technology lets you securely access your iPhone with the perfect password: your fingerprint. You can also use it to approve purchases from iTunes, iBooks, and the App Store without having to enter the password.
  • 14. Your wallet. Without that wallet. We completely rethought how you pay to make shopping faster, easier, and more secure. Apple Pay combines the convenience and security of Touch ID and Passbook with NFC technology. So you can use iPhone 6 to pay in stores and within apps with a single touch.
  • 15. The biggest iOS release ever. iOS 8 is the world’s most advanced mobile operating system. And with incredible new capabilities and features designed to make the most of a larger display, iOS 8 doesn’t just work seamlessly with iPhone 6. It makes every experience feel bigger and better.
  • 16. Design Design iPhone at its largest. And thinnest. In creating iPhone 6, we scrutinized every element and material. That’s how we arrived at a smooth, continuous form. A thinner profile made possible by our thinnest display yet. And intuitively placed buttons. All made with beautiful anodized aluminum, stainless steel, and glass. It’s a thousand tiny details that add up to something big. Or in this case, two big things: iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
  • 17. Design Design iPhone at its largest. And thinnest.
  • 18. Design An innovative seamless design. The first thing you notice when you hold iPhone 6 is how great it feels in your hand. The cover glass curves down around the sides to meet the anodized aluminum enclosure in a remarkable, simplified design. There are no distinct edges. No gaps. Just a smooth, seamless bond of metal and glass that feels like one continuous surface.
  • 20. Design Streamlined Inside and out. Designing a larger iPhone without making it feel bigger was no small task. It required challenging the idea of “big.” It called for narrowing when the natural inclination was to expand. It meant condensing powerful technologies and making chips smaller and batteries thinner, all while making them more capable. And it meant engineering our thinnest, most advanced Multi-Touch display. All of which yields a dramatically thin design. iPHONE 6 6.9mm THIN iPHONE 6 PLUS 7.1mm THIN
  • 21. Design Everything within reach. By creating iPhone 6 and iOS 8 together, we optimized the software to enhance the physical design. iOS swipe gestures were designed to be more fluid across the seamless form, making it easy to navigate iPhone with one hand. With new features like Reachability you can interact with the larger screen in different ways, too. Simply double touch the Home button and the entire screen shifts down closer to your thumb. And to easily navigate Safari or Mail, swipe left to right across the screen to go backward, or swipe right to left to go forward. With the new continuous surface of iPhone, all your gestures now feel smoother than ever. We also thought about how you use your iPhone every day and redesigned the buttons to make it even easier to use. Elongated volume buttons are integrated into the thinner profile, outlined to make them effortless to find by touch. And the Sleep/Wake button has a new home on the side of the device to put it comfortably within reach. The result is an experience that’s even more intuitive.
  • 22. Design The elements of beautiful design. To create a larger iPhone that’s extraordinarily light, we pioneered new display technologies. We carefully selected every material. Each detail was meticulously designed, engineered, and crafted until iPhone had an incredibly thin, continuous form. From the anodized aluminum and stainless steel to the curve of the polished glass, iPhone 6 is worth its weight in gold, silver, and space gray.
  • 23. Design Retina HD display Not just a bigger display. A better display. The size of the new, higher-resolution Retina HD displays on iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus may be the first thing you notice. But what you experience is so much more. With innovations that deliver higher contrast, dual-domain pixels for more accurate color at wider viewing angles, and an improved polarizer, these are the thinnest, most advanced Multi-Touch displays we’ve ever made.

  • 25. Retina HD Display Innovation On full display. The Retina HD display is your window into everything you do on iPhone. So it has to be great. And with full sRGB color standard, higher contrast, and incredible brightness and white balance, it is.
  • 26. Retina HD Display Higher contrast Rather than using traditional methods to create the higher-resolution Retina HD display, we developed an advanced process of photo alignment. This involves using UV light to precisely position the display’s liquid crystals so they lie exactly where they should. Better-aligned crystals deliver a superior viewing experience, with deeper blacks and sharper text.
  • 27. Retina HD Display Wider-angle viewing Larger displays make sharing easier. To make sure everyone experiences stunning clarity, the new Retina HD display has dual-domain pixels to enable color accuracy from corner to corner. So movies and photos stay true, even when viewing from wider angles.
  • 28. Retina HD Display Improved polarizer Your iPhone goes everywhere you do. And sometimes that’s outdoors in the sun. With that in mind, the Retina HD display has an improved polarizer so you get a clearer view when you’re wearing sunglasses.

  • 43. Technology Metal raises the game. To get the greatest graphics performance out of the A8 chip and iOS 8, we introduced Metal — a new technology that lets developers create highly immersive console-style games on iPhone. Metal is optimized to allow the CPU and GPU to work together to deliver detailed graphics and complex visual effects. So every imaginary world you visit will feel much more realistic.
  • 44. Technology M8 coprocessor. Technology that moves you forward. When you’re in motion, the M8 motion coprocessor continuously measures data from the accelerometer, compass, gyroscope, and a new barometer. This offloads work from the A8 chip for improved power efficiency. And now those sensors do even more, measuring your steps, distance, and elevation changes.
  • 45. Technology Go to greater length. And heights. Barometer The barometer senses air pressure to determine your relative elevation. So as you move, you can keep track of the elevation you’ve gained. It can even measure stairs climbed or hills conquered. Accelerometer The accelerometer can measure your distance for walking and running. And by using GPS to calibrate for your running stride, the sensor more accurately captures your movement. Gyroscope In addition to knowing whether you’re on the move or stationary, M8 works with the gyroscope to detect when you’re driving. It also kicks into action when you’re taking panoramic photos or playing games that react to your movement.
  • 46. Cameras Cameras The camera that changed photos now does the same for video. Every day, people take more photos with iPhone than with any other camera. That’s because the iSight camera makes it so remarkably easy. Now, in addition to its large 1.5-micron pixels and ƒ/2.2 aperture, the world’s most popular camera is packed with new technologies to help everyone take more great photos. To make it just as easy to shoot amazing video, we added new features like the option to capture 1080p HD at 60 fps, 240-fps slo-mo, and time-lapse video. And you can shoot HD video and then watch the stunning results on the large Retina HD display.

Touch ID is capable of 360-degree readability, which means no matter what its orientation — portrait, landscape, or anything in between — your iPhone reads your fingerprint and knows who you are. And Touch ID even lets you enroll multiple fingerprints.
  • 72. Touch ID The technology behind Touch ID. There’s a lot of technology at work below the surface of the Home button. Touch it and the surrounding stainless steel ring detects your finger and wakes the capacitive touch sensor. The laser-cut sapphire crystal surface of the button then directs the image of your finger to the sensor, which reads beneath the outer layers of your skin to get a detailed fingerprint. Software then reads the ridges of your fingerprint and finds the match to unlock your phone.
  • 73. Touch ID Music. Movies. Books. Apps. Yours with a single touch. Touch ID does more than just let you unlock your iPhone. Your fingerprint can also approve purchases from iTunes, iBooks, and the App Store, so you don’t have to enter your password or billing information again and again. And for the first time, developers can integrate Touch ID into third-party apps.
  • 74. Touch ID Touch. Pay. Go. Apple Pay lets you use iPhone 6 to pay in hundreds of thousands of stores with a single touch. • 78. Apple Pay An easier way to pay. Setup is simple. Passbook already stores your boarding passes, tickets, coupons, and more. Now it can store your credit and debit cards, too. To get started, you can add the credit or debit card from your iTunes account to Passbook by simply entering the card security code. To add a new card on iPhone, use your iSight camera to instantly capture your card information. Or simply type it in manually. The first card you add automatically becomes your default payment card, but you can go to Passbook anytime to pay with a different card or select a new default in Settings.
  • 79. Apple Pay More secure payments. Every time you hand over your credit or debit card to pay, your card number and identity are visible. With Apple Pay, instead of using your actual credit and debit card numbers when you add your card to Passbook, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted, and securely stored in the Secure Element, a dedicated chip in iPhone. These numbers are never stored on Apple servers. And when you make a purchase, the Device Account Number, along with a transaction-specific dynamic security code, is used to process your payment. So your actual credit or debit card numbers are never shared by Apple with merchants or transmitted with payment. Protect your accounts. Even if you lose your device. If your iPhone is ever lost or stolen, you can use Find My iPhone to quickly put your device in Lost Mode so nothing is accessible, or you can wipe your iPhone clean completely.
  • 80. Apple Pay Keep your purchases private. Apple doesn’t save your transaction information. With Apple Pay, your payments are private. Apple doesn’t store the details of your transactions so they can’t be tied back to you. Your most recent purchases are kept in Passbook for your convenience, but that’s as far as it goes. Keep your cards in your wallet. Since you never have to show your credit or debit card, you never reveal your name, card number, or security code to the cashier when you pay in a store. This additional layer of privacy helps ensure that your information stays where it belongs. With you.
  • 81. Apple Pay The major credit cards. With the same major benefits. Apple Pay works with most of the major credit and debit cards from the top U.S. banks. Just add your participating cards to Passbook and you’ll continue to get all the rewards, benefits, and security of your cards.
