Meteor, or MeteorJS is an open-source real-time JavaScript web application framework written on top of Node.js. While production-ready and used by a number of high-profile startups, Meteor allows for very rapid prototyping and produces cross-platform (web, Android, iOS) code. It integrates tightly with MongoDB and uses the Distributed Data Protocol and a publishsubscribe pattern to automatically propagate data changes to clients in real-time without requiring the developer to write any synchronization code. On the client, Meteor depends on jQuery and can be used with any JavaScript UI widget library.
Meteor platform presentation made at Javascript Meetup in Chisinau, Moldova. This presentation makes a short introduction to the platform and its features.
Stunning Mobile Apps with the Xamarin Visual Design SystemJames Montemagno
Xamarin.Forms excels at quickly producing cross-platform mobile experiences that look and feel at home on the host platforms. But how do you make sure your app experience is also consistent with your brand experience? Now with Xamarin.Forms Visual you can adopt a singular look and feel across your native applications, and even share that experience across multiple applications. Whether you want Material Design everywhere, or you want to craft your own, in this session you'll learn how to build a Visual implementation, consume it in your app(s), and distribute it. Visual is the next step forward in creating beautiful, native UI with Xamarin. To top it off we will look at the next generation of productivity tools for Xamarin developers to help them create stunning apps.
Swift is now simpler than ever to use for end-to-end development. Developers wanting a local development environment can now leverage popular Swift@IBM technologies using IBM Cloud Tools for Swift (beta) on IBM Bluemix. In addition, Linux developers can take advantage of today's most popular language on the most powerful Linux platform for data-serving and systems of record, LinuxONE™.Start building end-to-end applications and quickly deploy them with Kitura on both OSX and Linux. Kitura is a modular, package-based web framework and HTTP server. Written in the Swift language, this open source framework lays the foundation for community collaboration, building off the latest technologies from the Swift.org developer community including Libdispatch, Foundation, and the Swift Package Manager.
Presented at MoDS2016.
Swift continues to grow in popularity and is now one of the most used programming languages for mobile. Since the introduction of open source Swift for Linux, IBM has been enabling the language on the Cloud. This session shows how the new models of client and server interaction for application development enable us to rapidly build an app with client and simplify back-end integration of services - all written in Swift. Come, join this session to hear more about what is next for Swift at IBM.

ASP.NET is a set of Web development tools offered by Microsoft. Programs like Visual Studio .NET and Visual Web Developer allow Web developers to create dynamic websites using a visual interface. Of course, programmers can write their own code and scripts and incorporate it into ASP.NET websites as well. Though it often seen as a successor to Microsoft's ASPprogramming technology, ASP.NET also supports Visual Basic.NET, JScript .NET and open-source languages like Python and Perl.
ASP.NET is built on the .NET framework, which provides an application program interface (API) for software programmers. The .NET development tools can be used to create applications for both the Windows operating system and the Web. Programs like Visual Studio .NET provide a visual interface for developers to create their applications, which makes .NET a reasonable choice for designing Web-based interfaces as well.
I knew there had to be a better way to build mobile appsAlius Petraška
The time has never been better to learn mobile application development. For many app ideas, you don’t even need any prior native development knowledge. You can get started today with knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Unlike native mobile development, mobile applications using web technologies can support many mobile platforms. I shared my own experience on building hybrid applications based on PhoneGap also explained why I suddenly changed my own opinion about native apps and switched back to Xamarin.
