This is a presentation I made for my 5th grade computer class to introduce layers in computer graphics. The software used is Paint.NET, an amazing *free* graphics program.
Gestures allow users to interact with Android apps through touchscreen interactions like pressing, dragging, swiping, pinching and double tapping. Common gestures include single taps to trigger default actions, long presses to select multiple items for contextual actions, swipes or drags to rearrange or move data, pinches to zoom in or out of content, and double taps to scale up views for more detail. Long press drags specifically allow rearranging or moving data within lists and containers.
The document provides instructions for creating a magic revealer in ActivInspire. It explains that you first add media objects to hide in the middle layer and cover them with an image in the top layer. Then, a rectangular shape with no fill and thick border is created and the inside erased with the magic ink tool. The shape and ink are grouped and placed over the cover image. Finally, the cover image is duplicated and sent to the background layer before turning off design mode.
The document outlines design principles including vision, imagination, judgment, balance, contrast, harmony, variety, and action. Key aspects are the ability to perceive one's surroundings, effectively brainstorm ideas and evaluate an idea's value and limitations. Contrast in a design can be created by changing elements visually, while harmony relates to the unity of all parts. Variety and movement between parts are also principles discussed.
- Paint.NET is a free graphics editing program for Microsoft Windows that allows for advanced editing tools to create contemporary looking products.
- It can be used to design magazine pages and billboards to maintain brand identity across products and make the brand more recognizable.
- Advanced tools like layers, selection tools, and importing fonts allow for professional looking products and help avoid restarting work due to mistakes.
- Tutorial videos demonstrate how to use tools for magazine layout like sizing images correctly, placing elements, and creating shadows to make images pop.
- While some tools like gradients and effects can make pages more interesting, others like paint brushes would make the magazine appear unprofessional.
- Practice editing a sample magazine page
Photoshop tutorial - Getting Started and Magic WandJenna9
This document provides instructions for removing backgrounds from images using Photoshop. It explains how to:
1. Create a new blank file and import images
2. Select the area you want to keep using the rectangular marquee or selection brush tool
3. Remove the background by selecting it with the magic wand tool or drawing a selection with the brush tool, then hitting delete
The document provides step-by-step instructions for creating an artwork with laser eyes using Photoshop tools. It describes using the polygonal lasso tool to select areas near the eyes and fill them with bright colors. Effects like inner glow and drop shadow are added to convey light. The layers are merged. The image is duplicated, transformed by flipping, and merged to fill the page. The process is repeated and the artwork is cropped. The creator reflects on what was easy, challenging, and discusses collaborating with others.

Layers act like stacked images that can be rearranged, with transparent areas allowing lower layers to show through. Layers can be added, moved, deleted, edited, and have filters, effects, transparency adjustments or layer styles applied. The Layers panel helps organize and manage layers for compositing images, adding text or graphics, and applying attributes or masks to multiple layers at once through the use of layer groups.

This document contains links to various resources about personal rights, benefits to society, and copyright issues. The links discuss the balance between an individual's right to use content freely and protecting copyright holders' rights, the negative economic impact of piracy, and guidelines for proper attribution and use of copyrighted works.
This is a lesson I created for an assignment in my EdTech program. It can be used in middle school & high school technology classes to introduce the basics of copyrights, and guidelines for reducing infringement on copyrighted material.
Greenshot is a free and open-source screenshot tool for Windows that allows users to easily take screenshots of a selected screen region or window. The document explains how to install Greenshot, use its capture region feature to select and save a screenshot of a specific part of the screen by right-clicking its taskbar icon. It also provides links to download Greenshot and visit the Wordle.net website used in the example.
The document provides instructions for tracing a face with Inkscape by importing an image and using various shape and path tools to trace the contours and features of the face. It describes using the lines/curves tool to trace major curves, the edit node tool to add and move nodes, and filling shapes with sampled colors from the original image. It also details adding highlights by creating blurred white circles and shadows by creating blurred darker shapes and adjusting opacity.
The document appears to be a short thank you message consisting of only two words: "Thanxs for Watching". In summary, the message expresses gratitude to an audience for viewing or listening to something.
This very short story provides no details about Hansel and Gretal beyond their names. It mentions they have a gruesome story but provides no context or events. The document consists of only their names and a rating with no actual story told.
Once upon a time, there were three little pigs who set out to build their own houses. The first pig built his house out of straw, the second out of sticks, and the third out of bricks. A big bad wolf came along and blew down the houses of straw and sticks, but could not blow down the house of bricks.
This very short document consists of three repetitions of the phrase "LOG CABIN". It appears to be about a log cabin, with each line simply stating "LOG CABIN", providing no other context or details about the log cabin itself in just 3 lines of text.
Hansel and Gretel get lost in the woods after their father sends them away from home. They leave a trail of breadcrumbs to find their way back but birds eat the crumbs. They come upon a house made of candy and meet an old woman who offers them food and shelter, but her intent is to fatten them up and eat them.
The story describes three little pigs who each build a house out of different materials - straw, sticks, and bricks. The first pig's house of straw is easily blown down by the wolf. The second pig's house of sticks fares better but is also blown down. However, the third pig's house of bricks withstands the wolf's attempts to blow it down, keeping the third pig safe from the wolf.
This document lists the names of several children: Hansl and Gretl, Jacob, Jason, Glory, Feliciana, and Candy. It does not provide any other context or information about these individuals.

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.
