Growing future leaders with social technologiesTodd Nilson
The nature of mentoring in the enterprise has changed, largely thanks to the advent of social technologies being implemented in business settings that allow for meaningful connection, interaction, collaboration, and coaching online. This has allowed enterprises to scale their mentoring efforts, enabling many-to-many rather than one-to-one or one-to-many mentoring relationships. These technologies also provide greater visibility for leaders and human resources to see standout performance and contributions from employees who might otherwise be overlooked. This presentation outlines the trends and technologies that are enabling mentoring to evolve in the workplace and the process for igniting this change in your own.
This presentation provides examples of how social media tools such as blogs, LinkedIn and Twitter can be used to market/sell your business. But social media has implications beyond marketing and sales. It impacts PR, HR, IT and more.

Social Media A Low Cost Solution To Attract Emerging Talentlizzpellet
Social media is changing the way we communicate. Facebook™, Twitter™, LinkedIn™ , Yammer, Yelp and blogs are creating unique opportunities and challenges for companies today and employers must decide how to interact with these ever-evolving venues. This presentation will address the benefits of using social networks and how a company can strategically build its social networks; how a company can build its brand on LinkedIn™, Facebook™ & Twitter™ and how these sites are being used by recruiters today; and how to incorporate the latest trends in social media to create a competitive advantage for your organization.
Creating a Social Networking Recruitment StrategyCielo
Social networking sites are an important tool in a recruiter’s toolbox. However rather than dipping your toe in the water and experimenting tactically, it’s important to take a step back and think about your overall strategic approach to using social media for recruiting.
A well thought-out, coordinated strategy will ensure that your company’s recruitment message is clear, that the various online channels are integrated, and that everything you do in the web environment helps attract top-level talent and enhances your employment brand.
During this webinar sponsored by ADP, you’ll learn the best practices for creating a social networking recruiting strategy. Michelle Krier, Marketing Services Manager for Pinstripe, will explain:
* What social media is and why it’s important to have a social media strategy specifically for your recruiting function
* How to build a social networking strategy for recruitment (and how it integrates with your company’s overall social media strategy)
* What an integrated strategy looks like via a case study
* The organizational benefits of a social networking recruitment strategy, and
* How to measure success
The New Media Consortium launched the NMC Commons, a private online community that fuels productivity and enables NMC’s global membership to collaborate and communicate seamlessly. Through the NMC Commons, members will also have access to the most relevant education technology content in real-time.
Competency traps are the mistaken beliefs that the factors that led to past success will also be associated with future success. Digital technologies are changing the competitive landscape — providing new ways of delivering value to customers and new service opportunities — and factors associated with past successes may not be associated with future success.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.
