Q: Congratulations on your tour, how was it?
A: Thankyou,yeahit was fantasticactually.NeverinmywildestdreamswouldIhave thoughtI
wouldhave firstlysupportedsomeone asbrilliantasEdSheeranontour, nevermindhave myown
soldout UK tour at the age of 19, it’scrazy.
Q: Do you think a lot of your success isbased on supporting Ed Sheeran?
A: Well Iowe hima lot,but I didhave a builtupfanbase before I supportedhim, he helpedto addto
that and reallyhelpedtoincrease mypopularity worldwide.Butwe differingenre soI wouldonly
attract those whoare more intoindie andalternative music.
Q: Who wouldyou say inspiredyouto make music?
A: Frombeingyoungmyparentsand grandparentswere alwaysintoinstrumentsandmusicandI
thrivedfrombeinginthatenvironmentbutwhenIgot olderIthinkfromlisteningtomusicsuchas
One Republic,ArcticMonkeysandThe Smithsreallymotivatedme togetmy name outthere and to
make my ownmusic,ratherthan justperforming coversinschoolstalentshow.
Q: So how didit feel goingfrom your school stage to academy stages during tour?
A: Well Ihad an evenbiggerjumpwhenIhadto go on soldoutarenas stagesto supportEd Sheeran,
thishad reallyboostedmyconfidence and stage presence,andfromwatchingEdI made notesof
howto ownthe stage and howto act. So aftera few showsof my own,I got a feel of the audience I
had of my own,and justworkedwiththem, andthankfullyeverysingleaudience Ihadwere
amazing.
Q: That’s good! So didyou sing any new releasesontour?
A: Yeah,I sunga fewof the newsongsI have,whichmostdon’thave namesyet,but I sangmy
upcomingsingleswhichis,Come BackTo You, whichgota reallygoodreaction,everywhere I
performedit, whichIwasreallyhappyabout.
Q: So what have you got plannednow? Any more tours?
Well I’mgoingto release Come BackTo Yousoon,hopefully.AndthenImaydo some signingand
radiotours,but I do missperformingsoIwant to doa touragain soon.
Q: Fantastic! What do your familythink about your success?
A: They’re all reallyproudof me,whichmakesme happyasit isall I wantedfromthem, they’re
reallysupportiveandatleasttwo familymembersattendedeachtour.My mumwas amazedwhen I
toldherI wassupportedEdSheeranandshe almostpassedoutwhenshe finallymethim.Butnot
that much haschanged,she still doesmywashingandtext’sme tomake sure I’ve ate hahaha.
Q: Is there anyone you would love to sing with or support or evenmeetnow?
A: I wouldlove tomeetMatt Healey,orevenwrite asongwithhim, I love all The 1975 songsand
thinkitwouldbe amazingto have theirhelptowrite one of my own.
