Hannah Onder completed two internships in 2020 - an AT&T Summer Learning Academy externship and a Sports Information internship at Texas Wesleyan Athletic Department. The AT&T externship covered topics like HR, finance, advertising and leadership through online modules and guest speakers. Her goals were to expand her network, learn new skills, and get tips for resumes and work-life balance. For her sports information internship, she wrote game recaps for men's soccer within 24 hours, researching stats and interviewing coaches. Her goals were to improve her writing and knowledge of sports terminology. She provided links to further details on her experiences.

Learned how communication majors could also work
in the human resources department for companies
Posted on social media at least once a week if not
more since it was a virtual externship
Networked with many AT&T externs on LinkedIn,
Discord, and GroupMe
Learned many lessons on self-care and its necessity
to employers
Learned customization is key for resumes and
cover letters

6. FALL 2020 – SPORTS
INFORMATION INTERNSHIP
• The internship was writing the recaps
for men's soccer home games for the
Texas Wesleyan Athletic Department.
• The role entailed attending games,
interviewing coaches, researching
stats, and writing and editing
the game recaps.

7. GOALS
Write all recaps in a 24-hour period
Add at least one team stat in each story
Improve knowledge and usage of sports
terminology
Include details beyond the box score that
make the story worth reading
Learn the ramsports.net writing style for
recaps
