Objective:
It is the well-known that work experience is an essential part of
every professional course. In the same manner practical training
in any organization is a must for each and every individual
engineering course. The objective behind visiting the URIL-
Dawalance and preparing the Project Report is to study the
electrical overview, mechanical overview, processes of
manufacturing and details of control and instrumentation required
in URIL-Dawalance.
We have carried out this training under well experienced and
qualified engineers and technician from various department like.
Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical. We have taken the
opportunity to explore the Electronics Department, its use,
necessity in Dawalance industry and maintenance Processes of
Manufacturing.
We have tried our best to cover all aspects of URIL-Dawalance
and their brief detailing in this project report. All the above
mentioned topic will presented in the following pages of this
report. The main aim to carry out training is to familiarize
ourselves with the real industrial scenario, so that we can relate
with our engineering studies.

Summary
According to our study, we were interested in manufacturing industry of
engineering specially refrigerator Industry. It was great opportunity for us
to do an internship at URIL-Dawalance. The internship concentrated on
ELECTRONICS Field and ELECTRICAL Field.
At the beginning we all set our goals. During several times visit
different Production plants and being involved in different activities, we
tried to achieve our learning goals. The objective was to study all
instrumentation and electrical part thoroughly and to know the reasons of
failure of Production Plant. Supervisor helped us a lot in making good
relation with workers over there.
At last this internship has given us new insights and motivation to
prepare ourselves for our future career, so as we can on our own skills.
After this we are feeling some motivation in our selves.

Introduction
United Refrigeration Industries Limited Dawlance also known as URIL-
Dawlance. It is one of the major manufacture Plant of our country. In this
factory the main focus on D-freezer and Refrigerator. It is located in
S.I.T.E area, Hali Road district Hyderabad
URIL-Dawlance has normal capacity of production per hour is
120 peace. It consist of main four major Production Plant which given
below:
1) Production-1 (Plastic Moulding Shop)
2) Production-2 (Shearing Sheet Metal & Welding)
3) Production-3 (The painting Shops)
4) Production-4 (Pre-Forming & Forming)
5) Quality Control Department (Q.C.D)

PRODUCTION-1 (Plastic Moulding Shop)
As the name suggest plastic molding the production is said to manufacture all
plastic type of equipment that can be used in refrigerator manufacturing. There
are 6 section in molding each have its own task to with they can act these are
as follows.
1) Compounding section
2) Injection section
3) Hot stepping section
4) Steam print section
5) Extrudes section
6) Cable section
Compounding section
The raw material of various plastic material in the form of huge grain is
received in compound portion through store room.

Injection section:
It is heart of moulding section here all plain parts are been manufacture
through injection mould melena.
The highly automated machine CLF-INJECTION MOULDING MACHINE
use in this section.
Hot stepping section:
It is little section in which chosen stepping is to be done over the freezer
door pocket that desirable the various sign.
Extruades section:
It is the of section actually injection moulding process and it is also ised to
make the profile that has been mould plastic material and give the shape of
profile.

Cabel section:
The refrigerator wire conntection from the electric reqired a plug and
cable so in the there things are to manufactured.
Once the wire cables to be purchased that first of on this cable are to
cutted the required size and then the folly steps are to be taken.

PRODUCTION-2 (Shearing Sheet Metal & Welding)
Shearing means to shear off the requires size of sheet is called a
shearing process.
Sheet metal means the various process that has been perform ever the
metal sheet stop that give is the requires shape os to be vallled a sheet
metal.
Welding: a process of permant fastening important type used the most
important type used in dawlance is tug welding.
There are two mwthod for welding process
1. With help of co2 2. With the help of electricity
Raw- Material of Production-2 is in sheet form given below:

3) Vinyl coated material (VCM)
4) Alumimum

It is basically the painting section used to paint the various iron so that it
could be transfer into the final assembly shop.
It includes the:
1) CABENT painting shop
2) EVAPORATER painting shop
3) CONDENSOR paonting shop
4) DIP-COATING (shelf painting shop)

PRODUCTION-4 (Pre-Forming & Forming)
PRE-FPRMING SECTION
As the name suggest it is the pre of the forming that is it the place where
the various operation is to carry before it is to be placed to formed.
At the pre-forming the necessary item such as the liner, freezer and anti-
moisture tube, evaporator are to be inserted into the actual body cabinet.
The actual process of pre-forming is starts when the painted cabinets
from the cabinet painting shop are comes to the pre-forming zones.
FORMING SECTION
The forming section is a place when the pre-formed cabinet is to formed
by the automated machine.
The foam which is to be inserted within the pre-formed foam than it is
solidifying within a few minutes.
The foam is basically made of two different type of chemicals.
1) Polyoal 3) Iso-cynate
2) R141B (a gas which is used as a catalyst)
Basically the mixing of chemicals as to chemicals as to form the foam is
to be as:
100% polyoal , 1260% of iso-cyanides , 16% of R141B

Quality Control Department (Q.C.D)
Quality: There are various definition of quality but in very simple works
it can be term as” to meet the customer’s specification”.
Control: The provision to control the action or plan is to be control that
to meet the requires as per planned.
Quality Control at dawlance:
The quality is given the major reliability at dawlance and therefore the
central quality control department is been decided in different is section
such as:
1) Quality Engineering Cell
2) Incoming quality Control
3) Quality assurance
4) Self quality at each manufacturing section
5) Quality Process Lab

Reflection of internship:
It was such nice experience dealing with professionals and learning
form their experience at URIL-Dawlance. We have felt immense
pleasure at our internship and were very excited to know about
different interesting procedures. We again thanks a lot to out
supervisor who has really committed himself to us for our
betterment. It was an experience which we will never forget and it
will help us in future achievements
