 PROJECT DETAIL:
Project Title: BAHRIA TOWN ICON
Estimated Cost:
Time Duration of Project: 10 years
Type of Construction: Hotel and Office Tower
Internship Period: 40 days
 ACKNOWLEDGEMENT:
We take this opportunity to express our profound gratitude and deep regards to our
guide SIR SALMAN RAZA for his exemplary guidance, monitoring and constant
encouragement throughout the duration of the internship. The help and guidance given by
him shall carry us a long way in the journey of life.
We are highly indebted to the engineers, supervisor and staff of AAA Partnership Pvt. Ltd.
& BAHRIA TOWN ICON, for their support, valuable information and guidance, which helped
us in completing this internship through various stages.
We are obliged to Engineers of HRL , PARAGON , GALAXY CONSTRUCTION for the valuable
information provided by them in their respective fields. We are grateful for their
cooperation during the period of our internship.

 INTRODUCTION:
In this report we have incorporated the things that we have learned during the time
duration of this internship.
 Bar Bending:
Slab supported on two sides and bending takes place predominantly in one direction is
called one way slab. On the other hand, when slab is supported on all four sides and
bending take place in two directions are said to be Two way slab. In one way slab main
reinforcement is parallel to shorter direction and the reinforcement parallel to longer
direction is called distribution steel. In Two way slab main reinforcement is provided along
both direction.
6 | P a g e
 Girder:
A girder is a support beam used in construction. It is the main horizontal support of a
structure which supports smaller beams. Girders Often have an I-beam cross section for
strength, but may also have a box shape, Z shape and other forms.
 Coupler:
The coupler is use for a rod or link transmitting force and motion between rotating parts.
The advantage of using coupler is that it provides high strength to the bars and avoid from
breaking. There are different types of couplers but it depends upon the usage and demand.
In this project there are two types of couplers used one of 14 mm, 20 mm and 40 mm.
7 | P a g e
 Batching:
8 | P a g e
9 | P a g e
 For Coloumns , Beam and Slab the concrete of grade C64 are used
 It give the maximum strength in 28 days of 9286 Psi
 The cement used per kg for this grade is 560 kg
 Two type of crush are used 16mm & 10mm
 14.277 and 9.96 cubic ft
 The sand is used 13.84 cu.ft
 The usage of water in this is 173 ltr
 5kg ice used in 6cu.m Concrete.
 Admixtures:
 Pagel G.909 is used
 This admixture act as water reducing agent
 Increase compressive strenght
 For fair face result
 Temperature Checking:
The purpose of checking temperature is to make sure that it is according to the desire
temperature because it effect the workability and slump.
10 | P a g e
 Usage of Ice:
In order to control the temperature of concrete the ice is use to make sure it became
normal because high temperature will effect workability .
 Slump:
Is used to check workability. When slump extend 260 mm it will collapse.
11 | P a g e
 Shuttering:
There we used plywood shuttering for slabs, and plywood is an artificially manufactured
wooden material used for making concrete formwork. It is strong, durable and light weight.
 Concreting:
The placing of concrete is done by pump.
 CompressiveStrenght:
In order to check compressive strength the cylinder test is done. We note it by putting the
concrete in a cylinder shape object. After the concrete is set we put it in water for 7 days.
12 | P a g e
After the 7 days the cylinder shape object is placed in the compressive testing machine and
load is applied. We note the point at which it breaks. In order to get the Psi we divide the
resistance point by the area of cylinder to get the strength.
 Curing:
Curing is the process in which the concrete is protected from loss of moisture and kept
within a reasonable temperature range. The result of this process is increased strength and
decreased permeability.
 Core Wall:
13 | P a g e
Core wall is also known as shear wall. It is the back bone of the mega structure. In core wall
meva formwork is used. This is used for the filling of vertical object. It is time oriented.
 Composite Decking Slab(CDS):
14 | P a g e
It act as heat controlling. It is used in mega projects and it is time oriented in term of
placing.
 Conclusion:
The time spend through out ourinternship teaches us how to handle workload on the site
and how to tackle different misres on the spot.
