12. Is it illegal to pretend to be someone else online?
Facebook’s own terms and conditions (the part that no one
reads!) state that;
You will not use Facebook to do anything unlawful,
misleading, malicious, or discriminatory.
You will not provide any false personal information on Facebook, or create
an account for anyone other than yourself without permission.
13. Is it illegal to pretend to be someone else online?
Around 53% of Facebook profiles are currently private.
However, less than 10% of Twitter profile ‘protect’ their
tweets.
With employers increasingly searching social media for future employees
and even schools using evidence on social media to discipline students,
think twice before having a ‘joke’ with someone’s account.
