As a coder or developer you
probably need to re-think!
You are not in the Business of Building Software
anymore, you are in the Business of Building
Interactions. And that changes a lot.

I want to tell you why.

Human-Computer
interaction involves the
study, planning, design
and uses of the
interaction between
people and computers.
Platform interaction
involves the study,
planning, design and
uses of the interaction
between people via
communication devices.
A platform is a plug-and-play business
model that allows multiple participants
to connect to it, interact with each other
and create and exchange value.

The

Creates Connection by making
it easy for others to plug into the
platform. Infrastructure that
enables interactions between
participants.
Creates pull that attracts
participants to the platform with
a kind of „Social Gravity“:
Incentives, reputation systems,
pricing models, social media
levers.
Fosters the flow of value by
making connections between
producers and consumers. Data
is in the heart of successful
matchmaking
Consumer
Consume the goods producers
deliver on the platform.
Producer
Produce goods and deliver those via
the platform
Others
Also have interest in the data or
capabilities of the platform
Things
Real World objects that interact with
or on behalf of other participants.
So, in a way, you are creating this.
and probably this...

This is why you learned about
Human –Computer – Interaction
In University
This is why you as a technologist should master
Human To Human Interaction and broaden your
Technology skills.
With a growing need for speed and daily

Interaction Builders
Keep loving what you do, be
passionate about it, stay curious,
learn, advance your capabilities.
As a coder today you have the
power to make the world a
better place by enabling
complete new kinds of real
world interactions.
Time for a new MANIFESTO?
When Building Interaction the difference between UX,
Frontend Development, Backend Development,
Hardware Development, Psychology, Business
Build
Channels for Human Interaction
Instead of Systems waiting for someone to input data.
A Tech Business is (no longer) about the
(Features
& Software It sells)
Interaction it enables !!!
Formerly there was a Seller, selling your Software.

NOW: You build a platform that sells itself,
by using the dynamics of
Network Effects.
EXAPTATION
Buidling interactions is mostly about
about redefining and combining exisiting stuff to create new
human capabilities.

Editor's Notes

  • #2 Showing the interatcion, talk about the actual interactions. Bring examples of interaction, examples, facts and stories. Wtf moments, Data points: people go away with, did you need. Killer stories: personal. Narrative story.... More human, emotional connection... Vr story
  • #3 Facebook – My Singapore Friends. vTime ??? So I am in the SW Business for about 15 years now. Interestingly the Web2.0 story was so big (always misused to talk about AJAX), I believe that there are massive things happing right now that have a much more impact on how we as technologists, entrepreneurs and SW engineers work... Like now: when you see immobilienscout: marketplace, middlemen, communciation etc.  and we‘re struggling with that.
  • #6 When I told you the story about my friends in Singapore or the little VR experience: This was not about the software I used: It just does not matter ... It is about the platform taht allows me to communicate with other people. Driving transactions etc. When step back a bit...
  • #7 You‘ll see that there actually is a evolution of how software engineers were working. Mainframe: Software: OS specific, controlling data, make machines do stuff i want. Web: HTML, CSS, Java, DB ... using websites to get things done (or just a bit of insights), software for communicating with the one owning the software Platform: communication devices, cloud, service mashups, personalization, open Reality: real world objects, etc.
  • #9 Bringing both messages together. Use hammer.
  • #12 What is inventory
  • #14 Think about the message.
  • #17 Revenue Uber  Taxi. Examples:
  • #22 Example: conference in SFO in 2015 ... Marketing technologists  they understood. Netflix for example.
  • #23 Example: conference in SFO in 2015 ... Marketing technologists  they understood. Netflix for example.
