Inspirations In The Media

How Does Media Inspire People?
How can media inspire people?
One of the great ways that social media helps us is by providing us with stories that get
under out skin and make us appreciate our life, our ambition, and our friends. In fact,
there is no better tool that I can think of for spreading inspirational quotes, ideas,
stories, and articles than social media.
Why is media influential?
Prior research suggests that media influences through two effects: the individual or
direct effect (private) or the social or indirect effect (public). In the individual effect,
media information about new norms may persuade individuals to accept them.
Websites That Inspire
Me
YouTube is a website where you can post and watch videos made by yourself or other
creators. The website was founded on the 14th February 2005 by Jawed Karim, Steve Chen
and Chad Hurley and was bought out by google on the 13th November 2006. YouTube has
been the number 1 video playing platform ever since, with the app/website recording an
average of 122 million daily users. Since its purchase by Google, YouTube has expanded
beyond the core website into mobile apps, network television, and the ability to link with other
platforms. Video categories on YouTube include music videos, video clips, news, short films,
feature films, documentaries, audio recordings, movie trailers, teasers, live streams, vlogs,
and more. Most content is generated by individuals, including collaborations between
YouTubers and corporate sponsors. Established media corporations such as Disney,
Paramount, and Warner Bros. Discovery have also created and expanded their corporate
YouTube channels to advertise to a larger audience. YouTube has had an unprecedented
social impact, influencing popular culture, internet trends, and creating multimillionaire
celebrities. Despite all its growth and success, YouTube has been widely criticized. Criticism
of YouTube includes the website being used to facilitate the spread of misinformation,
copyright issues, routine violations of its users' privacy, enabling censorship, and endangering
child safety and wellbeing. All YouTube users can upload videos up to 15 minutes each in
duration. Users can verify their account, normally through a mobile phone, to gain the ability to
upload videos up to 12 hours in length, as well as produce live streams. When YouTube was
launched in 2005, it was possible to upload longer videos, but a 10-minute limit was
introduced in March 2006 after YouTube found that the majority of videos exceeding this
length were unauthorized uploads of television shows and films. The 10-minute limit was
increased to 15 minutes in July 2010. Videos can be at most 256 GB in size or 12 hours,
whichever is less. As of 2021, automatic closed captions using speech recognition technology
when a video is uploaded is available in 13 languages, and can be machine-translated during
playback. YouTube is the main website that inspired me to create my own videos and if it
wasn’t for YouTube I don’t think I would be taking part in the media industry. Considering
social media is on the rise I think it is influential to have a big social media presence.
Creators That Inspire Me
ArcaKnight is another inspiration of mine who is based on YouTube and social media.
He too creates YouTube videos just like me and has had some success by becoming a
member of the YouTube partner program. As I was watching YouTube videos I
stumbled across one of his absolutely phenomenal fake Beyblade unboxings, and
watching that video inspired me to create my own YouTube channel and begin making
videos. He does not earn a living of content creation but he does make money, and his
videos massively helped me get to know how I would like to make my videos.
ArcaKnight came out and said that he wasn’t always good at making unboxing videos
even showing some his old unboxing videos from 2018. His message in that video was
to never give up and keep improving, which is something I found emotionally touching
and truly inspirational. That video showed me that if I keep trying I can achieve my
goals. It just shows even if you start poorly you can still become successful.
Even though he isn’t a full time YouTuber, he still uploads videos and unboxings for the
whole world to see and enjoy. He still aspires to be a full time content creator and
hopefully he is able to achieve that goal. His videos are funny and informative at the
same time which is the type of content I aspire to create as well, so the structure of his
videos helped me to structure my videos.
Genres That Inspire
Me
At the moment I am currently being heavily inspired by animation/story time
content, because I really like the fact that you can express your feelings and
experiences through the form of art and entertainment. These videos inspire
me to write my own scripts about my own personal experiences and opinions
and create my own videos. I like the fact I can put my own twist on the videos
because everyone’s videos feel super personalised and unique, whether it be
family friendly fun stuff or deeper and more mature stuff. Even though I’m not
an amazing animator I can still use character stills to show expression and you
can go down the commentary route if you want to make quicker less time
consuming content. Personally I’m using character stills at the moment and
sometimes I’ll have gameplay in the background, I really like the idea of making
more mature content that is targeted at people who are 13+. I will most likely
integrate my local identity into my videos and talk about what it’s like to live
where I live. I started writing scripts when I was 14 years old and even though
my thoughts and feelings have evolved since then, I still enjoy writing scripts
and creating my own content. The genre has helped me find what content I
want to create because I don’t like being trapped in a box. I like the fact I can
talk about what I want to talk about at the time.
