Fit for the future... leadership and culture in a digital ageEva Appelbaum
Presentation for DMX Dublin 8 March 2017
We are living in a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous world. Businesses must address this reality, or risk their own future. The possibilities of digital channels and technology can inspire innovation and creative spirit, but it also causes stress as people and organisations are faced with change. We often hear that transformation it is really about people & culture.
So what does that mean? What are the characteristics of 'digital' culture and how do you foster it? What are the leadership skills needed to drive change? How do you bring people along with you as you lead change? And what does transformation look like when it is people-centric?
Eva will draw on her years of experience leading digital in organisations such as the BBC, Amnesty International and Group M to consider how organisations and employees can be fit for the digital age.

The People Side of Innovation
These days, there is much talk about open innovation, business model innovation and innovation culture. These are important topics, but the most significant element to anything related to innovation will always be people.
It is people that make things happen and this is you, your colleagues, your customers and other external partners that you engage with to bring innovation to market.
It is not that long ago that a good innovator was considered to be a good engineer or R&D person. However, things have changed big time over the last 5-7 years as the open innovation and business model innovation movements continue to rise while companies have failed to upgrade their innovation capabilities during the financial crisis.
In this talk, Stefan Lindegaard will explain the consequences of these changes as he looks into the skills and mindset that are required to be a good innovator in this era of “modern innovation,” which is driven more by openness and business models than internal R&D and patents.
The topics include:
• 7 critical personal competencies for innovation success
• an overview of the types of people and functions you need for a strong innovation team
• insights on the key elements for corporate innovation training programs
• a view on why some people kill innovation – and how to deal with them

Our Project started out as a way to see how eco-entrepreneurs from different countries were able to create successful companies and what were the key success factors and obstacles encountered.

An entrepreneurship ecosystem is important for individuals to learn and develop new skills, drives economic and social growth, and allows people to pursue work they are passionate about. Developing an entrepreneurship cell (ecell) on a campus can help educate students, spark creativity, and expose people to new opportunities but requires proper planning, structure, mentorship, and ongoing work to be sustainable.

This document discusses the desires and expectations of Millennial workers. It notes that Millennials will make up 75% of the workforce by 2025. They expect modern technology and flexible work arrangements. Rigid processes and outdated corporate technology do not meet Millennials' needs and expectations. The document recommends that companies focus on culture, technology platforms, and agile processes to attract and retain Millennial talent.

3. WHAT IS MEAN BY INSPIRATION?
We all are surrounded by different types of people and things around us. Among these many of them
gives us some beautiful lessons of life and thus become an inspirational figure of us. I think we all
would be having someone or something in our life that inspires us in every moment of life.
Inspiration is something that energizes us on a path of success. Our inspiration makes us
enthusiastic about achieving our goals in life.
Inspiration is the inculcation of spirit that motivates a person to do something in their life. It is the
most important for everyone in their lives.
4. MY INSPIRATION
Before I’m going to explain what inspired me a lot I just want to say something it’s none other than
“EDUCATION ”.Yes Education is an important tool which is very useful in everybody’s life. Education is
what it differentiates us from other living beings on earth.
5. EDUCATION
As Nelson Mandela said that “Education is the most powerful weapon to change the
world”.It is true.. education is very important for everyone. When a student let’s say for
example he had studied engineering, after completing his higher studies while going for an
interview to get a job, there the interviewer will not ask questions only related to his higher
studies. Nowadays the way of asking questions by the interviewer is changed. the questions
are like whether they had done any online courses, internships related to the current
technology? Have they published any research papers?. Nowadays the questions are like
this only. Mainly in most of the interviews, they are asking about the internship only. So a
student should do an internship before going for an interview.
6. PROBLEM THAT I FACED
I’m an economically backward person. My parents would find it very difficult to pay the fees for
my college. When I came to know that internship is very important for a student before going for a
job. I searched a lot on the internet for free internship and felt I very sad because most of the
internships are paid. Only a few internships are free that are not so good I felt very sad and told
my friend about my situation
