This document provides an overview for the opening sequence of a horror film called "Inscium." It introduces the main character, Jason Myers, and establishes that he will be taking an unfamiliar route home alone at night. Character Overview
Jason Myers – A local youth, that lives and breaths football. He
will not go anywhere without his trusty football at hand. Jason
is rarely ventures out of Hartlepool due to his amazing fear of
change so obviously he knows Hartlepool like the back of his
hand. He is very likable and nobody has a bad word against.
Jason often claims that nothing ever scares him and that he will
do anything that involves fear and danger but secretly inside
he is a wimp when it comes to these things, he does this to
produce a fake ego when he is around friends when actually his
real character is very quiet, smart and cautious.

4. Jason Myers- He is rarely seen in anything other than jogging
bottoms and a jogging top along with sports trainers, this is
because he is very active and doesn’t like dressing up.
Plot Overview
Jason is alone walking home from a long day with friends. He
takes a route that he has never been before, knowing that it will
still take him home. However, Jason does not feel right or safe,
like he is being watched. Unknowingly to Jason paranormal
actions are taking over control and are targeting him as their
next target. Will Jason make it back home? … In one piece …
Opening Sequence Overview
The opening sequence will last approximately 3 minutes. This
we feel will be sufficient enough to grip the audience and make
them want to watch it until the end. The aim of the opening
sequence is to establish the character and environment he is
in, it also gives a chance to promote who has distributed the
film along with the production companies. In the opening
sequence we can also promote the actors names and also
production crew that have helped to make the film.
Opening sequence
The opening sequence is going to be short and gripping. For
example, it is going to at first show who the production
company is, then there is going to be a fast cut into some
establishing shot so that the audience can get a feel of what
5. the story is going to be about and also get an insight into the
character. The opening sequence is going to have the titles at
the beginning of this sequence and they are going to continue
throughout and are going to be split up by action shots of the
actor and the location.
This is a running order of the sequence:
Beginning: There will be establishing shots of the location to
get create an atmosphere to the audience, then there will be
many shots of the main character as he goes on a usual route
home.
Half way: Action – shots are a lot more short and snappy to give
the feeling of panic.
End:
