Safe Kids Worldwide is a global organization with over 350 local coalitions that work to prevent pediatric injury. The coalitions are made up of various community members like medical professionals, educators, and lawmakers. Safe Kids aims to educate families, create safe environments, conduct research, and advocate for laws to protect children aged 14 and under from unintentional injury, which is the leading cause of death among this age group in the US. Some examples of injury prevention programs coordinated by Safe Kids coalitions include education on proper car seat and bicycle helmet use, as well as making road and park designs more child-friendly.
