The document provides initial ideas for short films, including plots, pros, and cons for each. It discusses ideas such as a man in a car accident who struggles with his family not recognizing him, a teenage girl who notices someone on the subway messaging about her, and decides to film the idea of "Drawn Face" which follows a group of friends who are revealed to be drawings controlled by an unseen person. The document explores various film concepts and considers the feasibility of each.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

2. Drive • One night, a young troublesome man goes for a car
drive. Being angered by something, he pushes his car
to its limits, which turns out to be a worse idea then
thought. He is forced to reflexly swerve when a cat
jumps unexpectedly to the middle of the road. The car
crashes into the side of the road and his mind goes
blank.
• When he finally came back to his senses, he tried
calling his family but no one replied. By catching a
taxi, he arrived at his warm home, but his family
didn't seem to recognise him; nobody knew him and
thought he was some lunatic. Frustration and
powerlessness led him to go back to the accident place
and find the cat.; he tried petting it but it didn't come
anywhere near him. After days of bribing it with food
and cuddles, he gained the long-awaited trust. That's
when he killed it.
• He wakes up from his coma and realises how scared
he was to lose everything, and begins behaving
differently.
3. Pros and cons
Pros
• It would be an 'emotional
rollercoaster' for the audience.
• Bonds between a human and animal
were seen before, but usually end in
a soft-hearted way.
• Not many new locations and actors
are needed – only the accident spot,
main character's house and his family.
Cons
• A obedient cat would be needed,
which is very tricky to find.
• A car is one of the main requirements.
• The driving scenes and the accident
one would be very difficult to film.
• It would be hard to film at night and
to find a road sufficient enough.
4. The shadow
A teenage girl is sitting on a metro going to her friend's house, unfortunately
her phone runs out of power. Sitting there bored she starts to look around and
notices the weird person all masked up in black clothing. Since they peak her
interest, she looks at their phone and who are they messaging and sees the
person writing a lot of information about her; her name, age, home address,
school name and her family's names. At the end of the opening, she says "If I
didn't see those text messages, maybe I would have stayed sane."
She goes insane by going paranoid and showing what can one's mind to itself.
5. Pros and Cons
Pros
• This is a mysterious topic which
would interest thriller movie lovers.
• It would make watchers wonder what
made her go insane.
• No set changes are required since it
will all be happening in the metro.
• Worrying about the time of day isn't
necessary since it would be filmed
only inside the metro.
Cons
• A lot of filler characters would need to
be found in order for the scene to feel
natural.
• The set would require to be a metro in
which would be very difficult to enter
and film.
• A lot of effect which bring her mind
to life would be required, such as
flash lights or music.
6. Confused
• A story about a man who grew up in an orphanage.
Since little, he trained very hard to be a boxer and
stayed loyal to his club until one of the most
known older boxer trainers saw him in one of the
matches and invited him to his club. He trained
him for a longer time and they grew closer; so close
that they fell in love over the, even small, things
that they had in common. One day while browsing
the older man's young days album, the younger
one sees a women with the same face as his
mother. They come to the conclusion that they are
father and son.
• I got this idea based on the YouTube Originals'
series 'Weird City' Episode 1 "The One'.
7. Pros and cons
Pros
• It is something new which wasn't seen
in movies before that much.
• Not too many actors are needed since
the two of the main characters don't
have any close family nor friends.
Cons
• A couple of different locations would
be needed; the boxing club and
arena would be difficult to
get permission to film in.
• An older and younger actor would be
needed, which are willing to take this
role.
• The boxer matches would be very
hard to film.
• The opinions regarding this
concept would be divided and
could awaken rage.
8. Drawn face
• A standard friend group goes out for drinking. When the boys became too
drunk, they ended up fighting each other while the girls tried to calm them
down. During this whole situation, a voice-over of an unfamiliar voice is
heard explaining the situation; the person is revealed along with the fact
that the group of teenagers is only a drawing, drawn by the person or, as
they would like to call themselves, god. Showing a whole batch of drawings
which are actually coming true, or had already happened, a vigilante, the
only person who realised who is actually doing everything, is shown deciding
that he doesn't want to adjust to being controlled anymore.
• Supposed to show that what we think is the truth is actually false and we
cannot rely on anybody nor ourselves.
• This idea is somewhat based on a Korean TV series "W" or "Two
Worlds Apart".
9. Pros and cons
Pros
• It will intrigue the audience since it is
very artistic in some view and makes
them wonder what if someone in
doing the same to their life.
• Only about five actors, which are my
age, are required and that will be easy
to find.
• Only two different locations, sets, are
needed.
Cons
• A person who draws really good will
be an essential part, since a lot of
drawings will be shown.
• It would be difficult to find an
adequate location for the first scene,
involving the friend group.
• It would be difficult to edit the
drawings.
10. I am thee
• It starts with a little girl who loved playing with
her doll Pinocchio; but a distance always separated
them since he was placed high up on the shelf. One
day, she strived so much for her friend that she
tried reaching enough to get him, in the end he fell
directly on her and left her with a scar. After this
accident, she became extremely scared of dolls as
such.
• Her story continues with her growing up and
getting the urge to lie more and more until she
finds herself tied up in a fake life she give herself
through lies and deceiving anyone around her. She
realised that she became the one thing which she
was terrified from.
11. Pros and cons
Pros
• It would be interesting for the
audience to see how the Pinocchio and
her lying connects in not such an
obvious way.
• Its beginning would trick the
audience into thinking that the movie
would be a horror one with the
doll introduced, therefore the outcome
would be unexpected.
Cons
• A young girl would be required, but it
would be hard to find a child with
good acting abilities.
• A lot of actors would be needed to act
as the friends and family.
• Specific props would be needed, the
Pinocchio doll which is one of the most
important things.
• Different sets would be needed and
the permission for filming in them.
12. Silence
• Story about an police officer who tries to find a killer which has been
murdering people for two years. Since it is such a complex case, she tries to
find help from various sources. One of them was her husband which always
seemed to be right at hinting but all the time resulted in a dead end.
• One day, she decided to go in the opposite of his advice, this was the first
time she actually found something. After a couple of findings, she got
an epiphany; her husband was the murderer all along. But she was even
more destroyed when he told her that all of the meat he served at the tired
nights after her exhausting work was actually human's, and their beautiful
leather couches and armchairs were made from human skin. This tells the
audience how the closest to us can actually be horrifying underneath.
• Some aspects of this idea can be connected to episode 9 of
the Snapchat's "Something Scary" short story profile.
13. Pros and cons
Pros
• It is a very interesting story,
especially for the audience which
admires police films.
• Not many different locations are
needed, basically just two - police
station and the main characters'
home.
Cons
• Many actors are needed, to play the
victims and the police force.
• Access for police uniforms, vehicles
and station is required, which would
be very hard to do.
• Special make up for the victims' scars
and the blood is needed.
14. Injured
• Dedicating her whole life to fencing, injuring
herself in the process and ending up in a
wheelchair. The overwhelming pressure of seeing
other people accomplish her lifelong dream killed
her on the inside; after a few years of the mental
pain, she decided to stop fighting and to restart. As
she slid the rope around her neck, her trembling
hands didn't tie it correctly; it couldn't hold her
weight and let her fall to the ground. Somehow,
maybe due to the fear, she landed on her feet;
giving her the new life she needs.
15. Pros and cons
Pros
• It would be heart-warming plot for
the audience.
• Not many characters are needed since
the focus is on the main character.
Cons
• Seeing hardworking sportsmen go
through an life changing injury and
reviving themselves in an unknown
way is an already seen plot.
• Access to a wheelchair is needed,
along with a hospital and badminton
court or fencing training room.
16. Two worlds
• After the suicide of his beloved girlfriend, the boyfriend comes to the
toughest part of his life. The blame that fell on him by the girl's family and
the letter she left, didn't help his case. He endured it for a couple of years
before he made the decision to give up himself; surprisingly, moments prior,
he met a familiar, yet never seen before, girl. To his astonishment, she
claimed that she was his daughter, but from another dimension where her
mother is still alive, but he is not. Somehow, being very fragile, he believed
her and took care of her.
• In the , it turned out that she was just a delusional kid, lying; still, he was
still thankful for making him rethinking his choices.
17. Pros and cons
Pros
• Only a few different locations are
needed.
• It is warm to see a lost father getting
guided by his dear daughter.
Cons
• It would be disappointing to see that
he waisted his time on her.
• A little girl is needed to act, which
is difficult to find.
18. Decision
• I've decided to film the idea number 4, Drawn Face.
I'm satisfied with my final decision since the movie
idea will be interesting to film with a lot of drawings
and characters, and will be easier since I
individually admire this one the most. For now I
haven't agreed on the exact characters and other
smaller details, but that is because the idea has a lot
of different variations which I want to explore more;
the idea gives much freedom and power to the
producer. Personally, I looked for an idea which
would leave an mental impact on whoever watches
the film, I think this idea succeeds at that.
