This study investigates the inhibitory effects of onion and garlic extracts on the growth and keratinase activity of Trichophyton mentagrophytes, a major fungal pathogen causing dermatophytosis. Results indicate that both extracts significantly inhibit fungal growth and keratinase production, with maximum inhibition observed at 10% v/v concentrations. The findings suggest that these natural extracts could be potential candidates for developing antifungal treatments for dermatophyte infections in humans and animals.
