"The Influence of Online Studies and Information using Learning Analytics"Fahmi Ahmed
This research will help people with inadequate knowledge to get
a better understanding of online study or e-learning. Through this
study, the social impact of online users or learners can be
increased, and the users can have a clear idea of online study. In
this research, the graphs will be presented according to country,
gender, age, online resources, etc. showing the impact of online
study and information on online users. The learners will get an
understandable knowledge of the type of sources, what is their
purpose, and resources people can use in online study. From this,
the learners will get a guide or path that how easily they can learn
online for study in a more flexible way. The outcomes are
visualized using the R language and Tableau with pre-processed
data.

I just had the opportunity of presenting at the inaugural 'World Congress on Access to Post-Secondary Education' in Montreal. It was my first attempt at a synthesis of four projects that the Pearson Think Tank is involved in; on rising tuition fees, school-based careers guidance, university admissions and open education data. In different ways all of these projects explore the 'wicked problem' (complex, evolving and interdependent) of fair access to higher education.
The work highlights three of the common barriers that restrict fair access to higher education;
1) Information asymmetry
2) Unequal distribution of resources
3) Variable and sometimes unequal access
As well as three potential solutions that have been developed over the course of the projects:
1) Deliver truly personalised information and support
2) Develop sustainable local learning ecosystems
3) Make appropriate use of open data
This is an emerging strand of thinking so please do share your feedback.

Exploring the Online Information-seeking Strategies of Education Graduate Stu...Wil Weston
This paper is the result of a recent exploratory study completed in November 2013, which examines how education graduate students at San Diego State University (SDSU) seek information online. Understanding this group’s online research and information-seeking strategies are critical when one considers that these future graduates will be occupying leadership positions in education and determining educational policy. How they evaluate information resources will impact policy and determine the importance they place on specific informational resources. Discovering the strategies utilized by these graduate students in their information seeking behavior will provide insight into the use of online resources and broader information seeking-strategies.

How data fellows open doors to data careers:
This talk will draw on findings from a Data Fellowship programme that was established in 2013 through the University of Manchester’s Q-Step programme. The data fellows are drawn from social science undergraduate degrees and since starting with 19 in 2014 we have now placed 330 student into around 60 organisations to do data-led research projects. The results have been published in articles and a book and Jackie will provide insight into these placements and talk about how the programme is opening up opportunities for social science graduates to enter data and statistical careers. She has developed a ‘research and analytical skills’ and ‘professional skills’ framework based on British Academy and LinkedIn and McKinsey reports. She is currently talking to employers about their ‘data skills’ needs and she is hoping her current research will result in a data skills framework that is more inclusive and not focused predominantly on STEM subjects. Her aim is to contribute to creating a more diverse talent pipeline into data careers.
The present study examines the Awareness of information literacy programs among engineering college students in Sivagangai district, Tamil Nadu.Information literacy programs help students learn how to use resources in the library and how to access new resources through information technology education programs, helping students develop their technology skills. Survey method was adopted for this study and constructs questionnaire was administered to collect the information.140 questionnaires were issued to the students of Sri Rajarajan College of Engineering and Technology and AlagappaChettiar Government College of Engineering and Technology out of which 125 questionnaires were received. Statistical tools used for analysis were chi-square, independent samples t-test and ANOVA for gender, age and program based differences in students' IL program. This study plays an important role in finding the right level of awareness. Knowing the students and what their educational needs are, colleges conduct coaching classes for students. This study suggested the need to develop an awareness program on the use of library resources/databases/web tools. Unveiling the Secrets How Does Generative AI Work.pdfSam H
At its core, generative artificial intelligence relies on the concept of generative models, which serve as engines that churn out entirely new data resembling their training data. It is like a sculptor who has studied so many forms found in nature and then uses this knowledge to create sculptures from his imagination that have never been seen before anywhere else. If taken to cyberspace, gans work almost the same way.

Chopsticks by http://www.flickr.com/photos/26562088@N07/ I like to think of information literacy in the workplace and in the context of lifelong learning as being wrapped in the context of information seeking- the way our students search for information is of course the way they will search for information in any situation. Second aspect of information literacy in the workplace is the relationship to the concept of a “learning organization” as well as the importance of knowledge management in the corporate sector. Also evidence based practice and importance of research skills in certain professions. No one will die if I don’t give them the perfect citation however, someone could if you have flawed research in engineering or the medical field or even legal research. Information seeking MATTERS.
