TOPIC
You recently attended a wedding .Unfortunately, your aunt missed the
occasion and she wants you to write her a letter to tell her about everything
that happened.
Write your letter. You must include the following:
• the names of both of the people getting married
• a description of where the wedding took place
• an account of the ceremony
You must cover all three points in detail. You should add further details. If you
wish and make your letter friendly and informative. Start your letter with ‘Dear
Aunt,
1. Salutation/Greetings
2. Main Text
1. Introduction
2. Content Points
3. Conclusion
3. Subscription

demand of the given question salutation has to be
placed.
Salutation or Greetings.

SALUTATION
Introduction
Content Points
Conclusion
MAIN TEXT
Tell them why you’re writing the letter. This will
be specified in the question paper itself. Keep it
very short.
you could say:
I’ve been dying to tell you about…..
INTRODUCTION
Ditch the boring ‘It has been a long time since I have heard from you.’
/ Hope you are well by the grace of Allah.
Start with a warm, friendly opening.
For Example:
#It has been a wonderful weekend and we have enjoyed a lot in the wedding.
I missed you so much. It could be a great, if you could have joined us.
#I have been dying to tell you about the wedding. It was one of the most
waited weddings of the family and I would like to mention that I have
missed you a lot.
#I am missing you so much. I know you have tried to come. Congratulations
on your success. The wedding was fantastic and I want to share everything
with you.
SOME IMPORTANT
FACTS…
This is the actual content of your letter. Provide more
details about the topic.

• a description of where the wedding took place
• an account of the ceremony

 How the groom was welcomed?
 How was the feast?
 Who were invited ?
 Was there any music?
 How was the decoration?

yours affectionately , Yours lovingly, With lots of love,
Signature and name:
(signature)
Name
SUBSCRIPTION
 Take care of spelling, punctuation and grammar. It’s a writing task after all.
 Don’t use abbreviations and slang such as ‘u’ and ‘OMG’! This is a board
exam, not an actual letter/email to your friend.
 Keep the tone very light and warm. An informal letter should be informal.
 Writing a paragraph for each point can be a good method of keeping the
letter organized.
 Give personal anecdotes. Add details that tell the examiner you really know
each other. In my sample answer, I used the names Steve, Neetu and Aunt
Shehnaz without giving any explanation for who they exactly are, because
my friend knows who they are!
 Try using time phrases. e.g. - shortly after that/later/that afternoon/after
dinner etc.
 Keep to the word limit. However, I remember my teacher telling me it was
alright if I wrote 10-15 words in excess. Any more than that, they would
deduct marks.
TIPS
Complete the letter and submit it
through Google Classroom by Friday
(28th August, 2020).
