there are basically SIX types of shops which are:-
Assembly
shop
•My Training shop
 ENGINE ASSEMBLY SHOP
• The State of Art assembly line for Engines is one of the best lines
fitted with high quality automated slat conveyor system having
various safeties and DC Multi Nut Runner systems on the different
stages which ensures consistent production.
• The diesel engines assembled here are from 28 Hp to 90 Hp.
• International Tractors Ltd. has tractor assembly line equipped with capacity of
80,000 tractors and engines per year.
• The plant has in-house facilities for producing transmission hydraulic
components and engines.
• To further enhance the quality of Tractors, Gears, Shafts and other important
components are manufacturers in house and are tested on high end testing
facilities.

The diesel engines operates on the principle of diesel cycle.
Diesel cycle is a gas power cycle invented by Rudolph Diesel in the
year 1897.
In it, fuel is ignited by heat generated during the compression of air in
the combustion chamber, into which fuel is then injected in the form of
fine spray.
DIESEL CYCLE
The eight major mechanical components of the basic tractor diesel engine are
the following parts:
• Cylinder block
• Cylinder head
• Pistons
• Connecting rods
• Crankshaft
• Vibration damper
• Timing gear case and gears
• Camshaft
Used to produce higher power
outputs, lower emissions levels, and
improved efficiency from a similar
capacity of engine
 Turbocharger :
A turbocharger is a device that
increases an internal combustion
engine's efficiency and power output
by forcing extra air into the
combustion
chamber. Turbo charged diesel engine refers to
any diesel engine equipped with a
turbocharger.
 Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR)
is a nitrogen oxide (NOx)
emissions reduction technique
used in petrol/gasoline and diesel
engines.
 EGR works by recirculating a
portion of an engine's exhaust gas
back to the engine cylinders.
 NOx is produced in a narrow
band of high cylinder
temperatures and pressures.
An arrangement of gears in an
epicyclic train permitting the
rotation of two shafts at different
speeds, used on the rear axle of
automotive vehicles to allow
different rates of wheel rotation on
curves.
The differential allows the outer
drive wheel to rotate faster than
the inner drive wheel during a turn.
Engine testing is done for checking the performance of newly
assembled engine to found out any assemble fault, their H.P., leakage
and other faults.
 Engine testing shop of the I.T.L. is equipped with latest digital control
equipments.
The engine testing is done with help of turbine (water) or hydro
dynamometer.
The hydro dynamometers are four in number so that four engine is
tested at a time
My training was the great experience.
What we learned in our theoretical subjects are
observed.
 I had the pleasure to do the work with one of the most
reputed manufacturer in their field INTERNATIONAL
TRACTOR LIMITED.
At the end I will like to thank all people who helped me
throughout my training to enhance my experience.
