The Wikimedia Foundation supports the technology and servers but is not involved in article content, while volunteers debate reliability and enforce policies through discussion pages and profile walls.

This document discusses cultural diversity projects at an international school with students from over 27 countries. It proposes replacing the current International Day structure, which focuses on general global issues chosen by teachers, with a new 100 People Project. The 100 People Project would have students research and celebrate the cultures of 100 people from around the world to better emphasize cultural diversity. It would also incorporate more explicit technology skills and research. Teachers are assigned homework to explore the 100people.org website and brainstorm ways to implement similar projects in their classrooms.

Leadership Africa USA

Leadership Africa USA held a student essay competition and youth leadership workshop in Nigeria to empower youth voices and develop strong leadership. Over 90 students submitted essays on the theme of leadership and national development, and 10 winners were selected. A leadership workshop was also hosted at the University of Nigeria and brought together students from several African countries. To publish the outcomes, Leadership Africa USA compiled 11 student essays into a book called "Africa's Youth Define Leadership."

MY HERO Information

The MY HERO Project's mission is to use media, art and technology to share inspiring stories that celebrate humanity. It provides a global learning platform where students from 194 countries can create and share hero-inspired media like essays, art, films and music. The website and its free online library host over 40,000 stories, 3,000 films and resources to promote global understanding through celebrating local and unsung heroes.

The English Student Association (ESA) is an organization for students in the English Education study program. It aims to organize activities and events to help members share knowledge, become more active students, and gain opportunities for scholarships. Key ESA events for the 2013-2014 year included an English Conversation Club, E-League competition, performances by the Forgiven and Siliwangi's Theatre groups and a Saman dance, and training sessions led by Setia Furqon Kholid. ESA also held its 4th anniversary celebration and took part in the English Expo 2014 event.

Global Studies Student Association - Agriculture Development Project

The Global Studies Student Association is raising funds to support their annual international service project at Hogar de Niños Tierra Santa, a non-profit orphanage in Honduras. In the past, GSSA has raised $26,000 for construction projects at the orphanage. This year, 12 GSSA students will travel to Honduras in May 2009 to carry out service projects in areas like health, education, and sustainable agriculture. Their goals are to learn about Honduran culture while helping the orphanage through projects like improving crop diversification, irrigation, and developing long-term sustainability partnerships.

During this session, we'll explore resources and frameworks that allow participants to identify the specific needs of their home campuses in relation to implementing intercultural and diversity initiatives. Intercultural competence has an impact on educators' daily duties and projects, allowing them to bridge the cultural differences present on campuses and in education abroad programs. This type of competence helps to develop innovative initiatives and to align with global learning outcomes and goals. Furthermore, intercultural competence fosters reflection and creativity with the aim of developing thoughtful and distinctive new projects. Panelists will present models for intercultural training, lead discussions on best practices in this area, examine projects developed as a result of intercultural training, and review intercultural tools that can help when implementing new programs.

ASPBAE responses to youth & inclusive citizenship

PRIA (Society for Participatory Research In Asia)

The ASPBAE General Assembly in 2012 mandated that youth issues become a priority agenda. ASPBAE has since worked to build a constituency of marginalized youth in Asia Pacific through consensus building, capacity building, facilitating youth participation, and documenting youth experiences. Key activities include forming a working group on youth issues, holding meetings in Jakarta and New Delhi to develop policy recommendations, and providing capacity building opportunities for youth through various forums and workshops.

The IELSP Alumni Association (IAA) was established in 2013 to empower alumni and contribute to society. With a vision of developing Indonesian youth with global competence and character, the IAA aims to optimize alumni communication and networking, and introduce younger generations to social, academic, and cultural aspects of international education. The IAA operates through regional networks and has organized donations for disaster relief, educational programs, and participated in innovation events to achieve its mission.
