The Cornell University PRO-DAIRY Anaerobic Digester Workforce Development Project is a project funded by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, aimed at developing and delivering high quality educational programs targeted to a range of workforces within the dairy farm-based anaerobic digestion (AD) sector of the clean energy field. One of the barriers to growth of the AD industry in New York State, as identified by current AD operators, is the lack of a trained, skilled workforce to service and maintain different aspects related to the AD and biogas systems. These courses are aimed at developing a workforce to support this need, and to eliminate this barrier to growth.
BRC FOOD Issue 7 will help organizations to train and prepare their staff to adopt changes in a Food Safety standard issue 7 of BRC in order to fulfill its obligations with regard to legal compliance and protection of the consumer.

The RecipeGenie suggests dishes or cuisines along with the recipes based on the ingredients you have in your pantry. The program takes as input the photos of your pantry, executes an algorithm to find objects in those photos (i.e., the individual items), and applies a neural net to classify the objects into appropriate ingredients. Based on these individual items, it then suggests the dishes that you can make, and also suggest some recipes you may follow.

Program has been running for about 8 months..
… so by now you've probably heard…that IDOE had some section 201 funds that were made available by the USDA to help with menu planning. In effort to help school systems across Indiana, Julie, John and the rest of the staff decided to provide some tools to make your lives a little easier.
We are here today to start the conversation and shed some light about this great project. You see, IDOE has partnered with PrimeroEdge to bring you a software solution that not only includes menu planning and production, but another module that will help school track and manage the training efforts of their staff to meet the new professional standards guidelines.
So why are we really here?
As of February 2016 – this is what the data looked like.
Only about 41% of schools in Indiana are currently using software to help with menu planning and out of that 41% there is a % who have it, but aren’t using it.
At the end of the day, the team at DOE really just wants to help. This solution can be a collaborative effort where both the schools in Indiana and the state can benefit. Schools systems who still use manual processes or complicated spreadsheets, will definitely be able to take advantage of having a more stream lined process and access to a repository of ingredient and recipe data. On the flip side the state hopes to decrease the amount of time spent onsite during the review process!
Even if you have existing software, you are still eligible to take advantage of what the state is providing and we will cover the opt in process in more detail in a little while.
Please keep in mind this is entirely optional.
Rest assured, that this isn’t our first rodeo. We have successfully implemented the PrimeroEdge solutions in multiple states across the country, with a variety of different software modules included in their unique environments to address their needs appropriately.
As you can see, this is a quick sample of some of the state-wide deployments that we’ve been involved with over the last several years. Several of these are implementing, or have already implemented, the same modules that IDOE has decided to offer to you. The state of Pennsylvania was the first to implement the Menu Planning and Production solutions in the same manner that you will have access to.
