In hypothesis testing, what is a Type I error? Type II error?
Solution
In testing of hypothesis,
{Type I error} is the error committed due torejecting the null hypothesis when it is true.
{Type II error} is the error byaccepting a null hypothesis when it is false.
REMARK: It is obvious that Type I error is more serious than Type II error.
