- Students will learn about the different effects of drought in more economically developed countries (MEDC's) and less economically developed countries (LEDC's). They will analyze the consequences of various drought effects and suggest ways to help solve drought problems. - Drought can have varying effects depending on location, from being a slight inconvenience in MEDCs to risking famine and disease in LEDCs. MEDCs may face issues like water restrictions and crop failures, while LEDCs could experience lack of water for crops, animals, and human consumption. - Students will describe global drought risk areas, particularly in Africa, and research solutions like water storage, projects, and sustainability in both MEDCs and LEDCs.
