Integrated Management of Neonatal and Childhood Illness (IMNCI) is a WHO and UNICEF strategy developed in 1992 to reduce morbidity and mortality in children under five by improving case management, nutrition, immunization, and newborn care. The IMNCI process includes six steps: assessment, classification, treatment identification, treatment administration, caretaker counseling, and follow-up care, tailored for various healthcare settings. The strategy has proven effective in enhancing child survival rates and should be integrated into national plans to achieve developmental goals for child health.
