● Date of Arrival: April 15th, 1905.
Letter to family
● Dear Diary, It is April 15th, 1905. I have
arrived to the United States, My dream of a
new life is finally coming together, But I
have a sudden feeling of fear, Actually, I've
had this feeling since I went on the ship to
the new world. We were crowded, and the
ship was consumed in sickness and was
    plagued with bad luck.
Arriving at large building
● I was able to survive my ride on the ship to
this large island, We all were greeted by
the Statue of Liberty. It was a beautiful,
awe inspiring sight for us all, A new life,
With no worries. But now we had to pass
the test to get into the United States, I
know I was healthy, So I needth not to fear.
The Baggage Room
● We all had luggage that would be taken to
the baggage room, It would sit there until
we reach the end an are accepted into the
    United States.
Stairway to the great hall
● This is where many hopes and dreams
were crushed, a lot of families were split
here. It was quite the walk to the great hall,
It was quite the wait also. I am surprised I
kept my patience through this all.
Medical Examination
● They had booths, Things there so that they
    can organize and conduct certain
examinations on you, See if you were
blind, deaf, anything. They would write it
down and decide later if you weren't suited
    to be an American.
The Great Hall
● This is where most of the decisions were
made, They would gather you into this hall,
and they would read all this stuff to you,
and then give you their verdict. To either
keep you, or send you back to where you
came from. A lot of families were split
because of this, It was quite the sight, A lot
of people crying, Having to go back, all that
hard work, for nothing. It was horrible.
The Legal Inspection
● We all got past the Great Hall, Then we
had something called the Legal Inspection,
Where they gave us a verse from the bible,
and we had to read it in our own language,
I never knew why they did this, But I
passed it. I proved that I was literate.
Money Exchange
● This is the next to last station we had to go
to, This is when we were accepted as
citizens, we got to exchange our
homeland's money, For money that would
count in the United States, This was very
important to us, for we now were taking our
first steps as Citizens of the USA.
The Journey's end
● This is it, I finally made it into the Americas,
I love you guys, I know that I wouldn't be
able to comeback to the homeland for
awhile. Or not ever. But I want you guys to
know that I am happy, and you guys should
    be too.
Andreas Kopera
● Andreas Kopera was from Zagaorzany.
● Their situation was the same like
    everywhere else, Not making enough
money, Want a better life for children, So
    they moved to the US.
The ship ride to the US
● From what I've heard, They went through
basically what slaves being transported to
the US went through, The always lingering
thought of becoming sick. They always had
to remember to check if they had anything
wrong with them. It was a scary ride to the
    United States.
