The poem describes how Jesus Christ paid the infinite cost to redeem sinful humanity from their imprisonment of sin and shackles. It describes how God came to Earth as a human in Jesus Christ. Though innocent, Jesus was mocked, afflicted, and crucified to willingly pay the price for humanity's sins and span the chasm between God and man. Through Christ's death and resurrection, our shackles of sin are removed and grace and mercy abound through God's covenant of love.
