Immigrant children in Australia often struggle in school because they lack English proficiency and do not have the opportunity to study in their mother tongue. As a result, many immigrant children fail to understand their lessons for months or years. Studies show that bilingual education programs help immigrant children become literate in their own language first and have greater educational success. To improve outcomes for immigrant children, the government is urged to implement bilingual programs to support students learning in both their native language and English.

Schoolchildren in Uganda face many educational challenges that students in more developed countries do not, such as language differences between students and teachers, poverty preventing families from paying school fees, and shortages of basic resources like seats, water, and teachers. Refugees from other countries often speak different languages than the English and local languages used in Ugandan schools. Even with universal primary education provisions, poverty prevents many families from affording attendance or supply fees. In rural areas especially, schools struggle with shortages of essentials needed for learning. Secondary school access is also limited, preventing education that could help children rise out of poverty.

In many U.S. school districts, a majority of students speak Spanish as their primary language at home. Our focus is on how to accelerate academic achievement for this group of students through the use of game methodology. As with video games, digital games motivate students to become active learners, and provide a venue for parents to become involved in their children’s education in a non-threatening way.

Combined Illegal, Unregulated and Unreported (IUU) Vessel List.
The best available, up-to-date information on all fishing and related vessels that appear on the illegal, unregulated, and unreported (IUU) fishing vessel lists published by Regional Fisheries Management Organisations (RFMOs) and related organisations. The aim of the site is to improve the effectiveness of the original IUU lists as a tool for a wide variety of stakeholders to better understand and combat illegal fishing and broader fisheries crime.
To date, the following regional organisations maintain or share lists of vessels that have been found to carry out or support IUU fishing within their own or adjacent convention areas and/or species of competence:
Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR)
Commission for the Conservation of Southern Bluefin Tuna (CCSBT)
General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM)
Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC)
International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT)
Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC)
Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organisation (NAFO)
North East Atlantic Fisheries Commission (NEAFC)
North Pacific Fisheries Commission (NPFC)
South East Atlantic Fisheries Organisation (SEAFO)
South Pacific Regional Fisheries Management Organisation (SPRFMO)
Southern Indian Ocean Fisheries Agreement (SIOFA)
Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission (WCPFC)
The Combined IUU Fishing Vessel List merges all these sources into one list that provides a single reference point to identify whether a vessel is currently IUU listed. Vessels that have been IUU listed in the past and subsequently delisted (for example because of a change in ownership, or because the vessel is no longer in service) are also retained on the site, so that the site contains a full historic record of IUU listed fishing vessels.
Unlike the IUU lists published on individual RFMO websites, which may update vessel details infrequently or not at all, the Combined IUU Fishing Vessel List is kept up to date with the best available information regarding changes to vessel identity, flag state, ownership, location, and operations.

IMMIGRANT CHILDREN IN AUSTRALIA Not all the immigrant children in Australia have the opportunity to study in their own mother tongue.Therefore many children, spent months or years in school not being able to understand the lessons because of their lack of english language. Immigrant children are failing in Australian education system because they don’t have the opportunity to study in a bilingual education program.The U.N. report on language and education shows that children who become literate in their own language, have greatest chance of educational success. People have been discussing the latest figures on university entrance, noticing that immigrant children do less well then ”Anglo” children at present, therefore they think that the government has done too little for these children.In order to improve the quality of the education system, it suggested to have bilingual programs for all immigrant children. Australia is a multi cultural country and bilingual programs are a pending issue. !1
