However, little attention has been paid to situational teaching method in English class in secondary vocational school. Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.

1. HOW IMPORTANT ENGLISH EDUCATION
TO BE TAUGHT IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ?
Education is the process in human’s life where human try to get or to find
knowledge from anywhere and it happens throughout their life. Although, English Education
is a kind of education which teach and give knowledge to students about English. Teaching
English especially in Indonesia now, be a polemic base on the new curriculum. Why ?
Because in the new curriculum, teaching English in elementary school had been deleted from
the part of curriculum in Elementary school. Deletion of teaching English at the elementary
school is the policy of the goverment in Indonesia, especially the ministry of education.
Deletion of teaching English or English Education as a learning materials in elementary
school still be a controversy because many people disagree with this policy.
Talking about curriculum in education’s world in Indonesia, it had changed for
several times and the last curriculum that use until this time is Curriculum of 2013.
Curriculum of 2013 is a curriculum that give many changes in the using of curriculum as a
guidelines of implementation of education in elementary school. One of the changes in
curriculum of 2013 for elementary school is the deletion of some subjets such as English.
The deletion of English as learning materials in elemetary school essentially can lead a
polemik in various circles especially education observers. Many of education observers think
that English as a subject is important thing because as we know, today everything in this
world have related to English so, everyone must know about English. The other reason why
English should be taught in elementary school because children who study in elementary
school are children in age seven until twelve years where the age is the golden age of people
so, it’s more easy to introduce and give new knowledge to them.
Beside that, the importance of teaching English as learning material in
elememtary school is children who study in elementary school are children that still start to
learn and to know everything around them so, they will be more sensitive to something new
so that, when they are taught about English is certainly not difficult. This happens because
the children still feel unfamiliar with English so that they will continue to learn and try to
understand and know English. Besides, memory of children are still very good therefore it
will be easy to them to remember their subjects and knowledge that they get when they study.
So, teaching English in elementary school can help children as student accustomed with
English. They will not feel unfamiliar with English in the future. Children will also be easier
to get a lot of information and new knowledge with thier English skills.
Remember that teaching English is important in elementary school so, English
should not be deleted from the part of curriculum in elementary school because learning
English since in elementary school of course will give more positive impact to the children.
Moreover, as we know that children is the young generation that will be the next generation
so they must master English as an important language in this world so that, they can easy to
communicate with people from any where. So, deletion English in curriculum of 2013 is not
the right decision.
