This preliminary grant proposal seeks funding from the National Leadership Grants for Libraries program to develop new tools, models, services, and practices for improving library services in Washington State. Specifically, it involves a collaborative partnership between the Washington State Library and the Department of Corrections to create a content management and sharing system for prison libraries. This project aims to have national impact by addressing the significant differences in library services provided across state prison systems. If invited, a full 20+ page proposal will be submitted in March 2021 for potential funding to support a two-year phased project beginning in September 2021.
