This document discusses ways to develop an innovative culture in organizations. It emphasizes that an innovative culture balances attributes like creativity and freedom with discipline and accountability. Key aspects of an innovative culture include unique strategies, employee autonomy, trust, accepting failures, and strong leadership. Leaders can build such a culture by encouraging outside-the-box thinking, conducting innovation workshops, avoiding bureaucracy, and establishing a reward system for innovative ideas. Culture - Hard to Build, Easy to Destroy, OrTony Moroney
This document discusses culture in financial services organizations. It defines culture and outlines how culture impacts conduct risk. Regulators are increasingly focusing on culture as a key driver of misconduct. Building a strong culture requires senior leadership to model desired behaviors and values. It also involves communication of values throughout the organization, training, incentives, and accountability. Poor culture can lead to conduct issues that harm customers and undermine market integrity. Financial firms must define culture in a way that goes beyond compliance to influence real behaviors and decision-making.
How to Build a Culture in Product by former TiVo Product ManagerProduct School
Product Managers are the CEOs of their product. While this metaphor is meant to make you think of ownership and responsibility for superbly executed product delivery, there is so much more that it can mean.
Keegan discussed how, just like the CEO of a company, Product Managers should be thinking about culture as much as they think about strategy. He explored what makes a great product culture, how effective cultures are relative to the personalities within them, and why he says that the Product Manager has more potential to impact company culture than any other single individual in an organization.
Creating Culture by Michael Eg Fausbøll discusses organizational culture and how it can be used as a business tool. It notes that culture must be strategically relevant, strong, and emphasize innovation and change. Three levers for shaping, strengthening, and changing culture are identified: recruitment and selection, socialization, and rewards. What makes culture strong is having agreement (talk-the-talk) and intensity (walk-the-talk) at high levels. Jenny Chatman's 3 C's of culture - being consistent, coherent, and comprehensive - are also referenced.
“The fact is, culture eats strategy for lunch. You can have a good strategy in place, but if you don’t have the culture and the enabling systems that allow you to successfully implement that strategy, the culture of the organization will defeat the strategy.” Richard Clark, CEO of Merck (2005 – 2010)
In a study conducted by Bain Consulting in 2008, 91% of the 1200 senior executives at global companies agreed that “culture is as important as strategy for business success”. It further revealed that 81% of executives agreed that “a company without a winning culture was doomed to mediocrity.” In a more recent study by Booz and Company in 2013 , 96% of the 2200 respondents agreed that “culture change is needed in their organisation” while 51% agree “that their culture needs a major overhaul”.
These are startling numbers. If organisational culture is so important, why is it not one of the top items on the agenda?
In the second of this 6 part Change Management series, we outlined the importance of communicating your change and actively engaging your stakeholders.
In this article, we discuss the importance of designing and building a culture that supports your vision.
In efforts of unifying and defining the Company culture, a study was conducted to create a benchmark and a framework based on the market trends. In this study, the history, cause, and trends of the evolving culture were studied carefully. A group of top national and international companies with well-known cultures was studied. This helped create a correlation and differentiation between the perks and the culture.

This document discusses how to build a winning corporate culture. It argues that culture is defined by consistent patterns of behavior and actions, not just words. It outlines five steps to build culture: set expectations, align leadership, focus on goals, manage cultural drivers, and communicate. While many executives think culture is hard to define and change, the document asserts that culture can be a powerful competitive advantage when skillfully managed. A case study is presented, and it is concluded that culture programs improve business results and employee fulfillment when executed well. If culture change fails, organizations should foster a constructive culture that encourages communication and teamwork.

With benefits such as employee loyalty, job satisfaction and higher productivity, many believe that a distinct corporate culture is the key to the success of any business. For many organisations, their desired culture is defined by articulating a purpose, vision and values. However, research shows that only one in four employees strongly believe in their company’s values, and less than half know what their employer stands for.
This short webinar will provide insight on using communication to cultivate a distinct corporate culture, as well as tools and concrete action points that will instill a sense of belonging among employees, helping to boost job satisfaction, productivity and engagement in your organisation.

CULTURAL FIT TO STRATEGIES ON BABYLON GROUPSazia Ahmed
The document provides an overview of the organizational culture at Babylon Group, a Bangladeshi textile company. It discusses the company's history and mission, leadership, strengths in facilities and skilled workforce. It also examines the cultural dimensions that influence employee behaviors and attitudes, including reward systems, decision making processes, socialization, and leadership. Organizational culture consists of visible artifacts, shared values, and unconscious assumptions. It impacts outcomes like effectiveness, innovation, and collective employee motivation, work attitudes, and behaviors.
This document outlines five critical success factors for ensuring successful organizational culture change: 1) Define urgency and a compelling reason for change, 2) Define the current and desired future cultures, 3) Build a culture change roadmap with measurable milestones, 4) Translate the desired culture into specific behaviors, and 5) Have leadership authentically model the desired new behaviors. Ignoring these factors risks losing momentum, prolonging the change process, or achieving fragmented results.
